LOUD LIKE LOVE - MY REVIEW
After having had this album on more or less constant replay since Friday:
I absolutely LOVE it, it really is "all killer and no filler" (to quote Placebo themselves).
A lot has been said about the individual tracks, so I am not going to express an opinion about them, to me they are all wonderful and there isn't a single one that I am skipping. My favourites are Exit Wounds, Begin the End and Bosco - they floor me every time I listen to them.
The album flows beautifully, is really is like ten short stories told with so much passion and emotion by Brian with the perfect accompaniment of the rest of the band and the other instruments. (Stef on piano is sublime and Steve has matured SO much as a drummer!)
But to me; the perfection of this album is in how it makes me FEEL. And that is what Placebo is all about - they make us FEEL. This album rips my heart out, makes me cry; but also comforts me. It is like a warm, soft fuzzy blanket that you can wrap around yourself.
It makes me emotional, but is also gives me peace of mind - because I know that Brian haven't lost his spark yet (he has no reason to doubt himself that much - but that is what makes him human, vulnerable and relate-able) and Placebo is still "our" Placebo - even though their sound has matured and changed.
SO: thank you Placebo; you are still the sound track of my life and the wait of 4 years was SO worth it!
I want this as a poster SO bad!
