Requests: “So I'm a stefan Salvatore Stan asf and I love love LOve angst and was wondering if you could do an image with Stefan x Reader ? Maybe possibly where everyone reminds stefan(and the reader/ also Damon) that stefan and Elena are meant to be and they get to in argument because of it where the reader is starting to give up on their relationship and he tries to convince her Sorry this is oddly specific but I hope if you don't mind making this ! <3″
Things had really shifted since Damon and Elena had started dating and Elena chose Damon over Stefan. This seemed to put a wedge in between their friends and most importantly the Salvatore brothers. Everybody knows Stefan had been heartbroken for the longest time over Elena but she had moved on fairly quickly with his brother. In between this time one of the most important women in Stefan’s life was Y/N and Caroline. When Caroline couldn’t be there, Y/N always was and vice versa.
Stefan couldn’t help but feel a strong connection to Y/N and eventually asked her out for coffee and Y/N agreed it would keep his mind off of Elena. And what was meant to be a distraction lead to a full blown relationship. Y/N didn’t doubt in her mind that Stefan was heartfelt but even she knew that eventually things would find their way back to Elena. They always do.
So when the girls were walking aimlessly through the mall for dresses for one of the many Mystic Falls dances, Bonnie had asked Elena how she and Damon were doing despite all of the challenges so early on in the relationship. Y/N kind of kept quiet and kept walking beside her friends, Caroline obviously not a huge fan of Damon and Elena together seemed to tune out the conversation as well. Bonnie and Elena talked in their own little world until Y/N heard Bonnie’s soft and sweet voice out of no where.
This made Caroline snap her head over also. “Y/N? Did you hear me?” The group came to a pause and Y/N brushed hair out of her face. Bonnie was smiling with her eyes, eager for an answer.
“I’m sorry Bonnie...no I wasn’t paying attention.” Bonnie rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue and playfully tapped Y/N’s shoulder and Y/N faked a smile. “What did you say?”
Bonnie grinned and looked over at Elena and Elena now patiently waiting for a response. Caroline rolling her eyes into the back of her head as usual, she knew the question and that it had nothing to do with Elena. “I asked how you and Stefan are doing? I heard about your little date.” Bonnie played and giggled and pushed at Y/N’s arm again.
Y/N smiled back and sighed. “He’s a gentleman. I don’t want to rush things though. We are taking it slow and making sure it’s what we both want so we don’t get hurt.” Caroline huffed making the group turn quickly.
“Okay of course Elena would want you to ask.” She snapped. Elena looked somewhat offended and Bonnie kept her best poker face. “It’s so clear you still care about Stefan and what he’s doing. We know you’re meant to be together Elena. We all get it.” Caroline folded her arms and Bonnie scoffed.
Y/N’s eyes widened and she wasn’t quite sure what to say. Where did that outburst come from? Elena rolled her eyes. “Caroline I don’t know what’s going on with you or Tyler or Klaus but please stop putting it onto me Stefan and Damon? Besides, Stefan has a little thing for Y/N and I think it’s healthy...” Caroline scoffed back. “Okay Care, let it out.” Elena invited her friend.
“It’s nothing.” Caroline sighed quietly. “Stefan and Y/N are our friends and I’m sorry Elena but I don’t think you realize the power you have over the Salvatores and I just want to see them both happy. All you have to do is say the words and Stefan is back at your feet.” Y/N’s eyes widened and she could feel a lump rising in her throat. Caroline was right...wasn’t she?
Bonnie couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Elena always had a response though and looked over at Y/N who was staring at her feet. “It’s not true Y/N. Stefan feels for you and I’m happy with Damon. I want you both happy.” They spun and continued to walk, leaving Y/N a couple of inches behind.
------
Stefan smiled at Y/N from the sink. He was finishing up the last of dishes from the dinner he cooked for the both of them and wiped his hands on the towel hanging by the sink. He kept his gaze fixed on her and how beautiful she looked sitting there and sipping at a glass of wine he poured her early on in the meal. But something was off. So Stefan being himself sits next to her and gently places his hand over the top of hers. Her other hand in her mouth, nervously chewing on her thumb. He’d never seen this before from her.
His deep voice was soft and came out of nowhere much like Bonnie’s earlier, snapping her out of her trance. “Y/N? Are you okay?” She looked over and saw his beautiful green eyes, god he was so handsome. Who’s to say Elena didn’t still feel this way for him and come crawling back herself? She was the it girl after all. “You can talk to me.” He deeply sighed, leaning in more to her and squeezing her hand a little tighter. “Whatever is on your mind.” He reassured her.
Should she tell him? She told him everything. So here goes nothing and she swallowed the lump in her throat and blurted it out. “Today at the mall Bonnie asked how I was and how you and I were doing and Caroline mentioned she thinks that when Elena is done with Damon and bored she going to come back to you-” She put her head in her hands. “And we all know that it’s destiny that you are supposed to be with her, everything always comes back around to Elena somehow I-”
Stefan’s hand was now caressing her cheek. His stare was intense, reaching into her soul and pulling more of her truth out and she was crying and sniffling before she knew it. “Elena swears it won’t happen but who knows Stefan? Part of me knows its possible I mean everything changes here so quickly and you mean a lot to me you really do but-” He pulled her in for a hug, her nose buried in his chest and she was pulled so far forward into him, sobbing in his arms. Nervous for the future and he was so understanding, no wonder why everybody wanted to be with Stefan.
She felt so safe in his arms, clinging to him and eventually sitting on his lap. A few minutes later she’s calmed down and he pulls her away from his chest, mushing her plump cheeks in his hands and wiping away her hair and tears as she sniffles and struggles to continue making eye contact. He gives her a comforting smile, her body slightly shaking still. “Can I tell you what I think about that?” Y/N gives a small nod, wiping more hair out of her eyes.
“Y/N...Elena and I are done. For good. Even if you think she may come back and want me again...I want you. Elena is your friend, Y/N. She puts everyone else before her, I know she could never do that to you.” He nods with her, making sure she understands. “I’m not going anywhere, Y/N. Okay?” He leaned in and placed a soft kiss to her puckered lips.
She comfortingly rubbed his arm and squeezed it and nodded to him. “I guess that’s what they call Faith over Destiny.” He grins shyly at her.
“Here is the fifth coffee of the day for you Mr. Salvatore,” announced Elena as she entered Stefan’s office bringing him the coffee that he requested her to bring.
It was pretty late on a Friday night, and the clock suggested 9 p.m. Almost all the employees of The Salvatore Industries had wrapped up their work and left already but Stefan was still working late in his office which meant that Elena also had to stay up late.
Today has been a busy day for Stefan, he had three meetings with some of their most important clients and also had to review the company's new policies. Elena has been observing him the whole day, how he barely had time to get lunch, and has been surviving on caffeine all day.
“Thank you so much Elena, and are you calling me out for consuming coffee?”
“No, Mr. Salvatore, I didn’t mean it like that. It’s just that you have barely eaten anything today and this much caffeine can be harmful for you. I think you should take a break and at least eat something.”
“I truly appreciate the concern ‘Lena but I can’t take a break, we have a deadline to meet for this new project and apparently as a boss, I have to go through everything in detail and find loopholes, if any,” said Stefan adding softness in his tone.
Elena nodded in acknowledgment and asked, “Can I help?”
“It’s a Friday night Elena, I wouldn’t want you to work overtime and waste a Friday night for something that’s my job. You should go home and relax. I will stay up late and get this done, but thank you so much for offering your help,” said Stefan flashing a grateful smile toward Elena.
“Well, taking care of your job is my job, Mr. Salvatore, so whether you like it or not, I am helping you and before continuing with work, I’ll grab something for us to eat from the café downstairs.”
Stefan walked closer to Elena and leaned himself against his table, “I thought I was the boss,” said Stefan sarcastically and added, “but honestly Elena you don’t have to go through all this trouble for me. I would understand if you wanted to go home.”
Elena placed her hands over Stefan’s in reassurance and said, “It’s okay Mr. Salvatore, I am more than happy to help,” saying that she left the office to get something for both of them to eat.
-
They both settled themselves on the couch inside Stefan’s office and kept the food on the coffee table. They had too much work to take a separate break for eating so they had to multitask and eat while working.
The silence spread through the office as both of them were busy working on their individual assigned tasks. Only the sound of scratching pens and ruffling papers was audible. The clock suggested 11.14 pm, and they were the only ones left in the office by that time. Elena was cross-checking a memo and once she was confident about it, she passed it over to her boss for him to glance at it.
Stefan sat beside Elena in his work suit with his messy locks hovering over his forehead, his brows knitted as he was focused on reading the memo given to him by Elena. The light coming from the lamp beside revealed his sharp jawline. His lips were murmuring the words written in the document while his eyes moved with concentration.
Elena caught herself staring at the sight in front of her. She soon snapped out of the bubble of thoughts forming inside her head realizing that the man she was staring at so irresistibly was her boss.
Stefan cleared his throat before he said, “Elena, this is perfect. Thank you.”
Elena simply smiled accepting his gratitude toward her and went back to proofreading another document.
“‘Lena?” called Stefan.
Elena hummed in response and turned her attention towards Stefan, “Yes, Mr. Salvatore?”
“Can I say something?” he asked her with a hint of calmness in his voice. Elena nodded with a subtle smile on her face.
“I meant it when I said that you don’t strike me as someone who would be a receptionist. Because of the kind of help you have provided me tonight, I’m pretty sure none of my other employees would have been able to accomplish that too in such a short time. I hope I am not overstepping but I think you should give your life another shot and do something that defines who you are. In my opinion, you can bring so much to the table instead of just coffee” he chuckled softly, “No but jokes apart, I mean it. You have so much more potential.”
Elena was startled to hear these words from her boss. Not many people have seen Elena or rather have known her to her full potential, she felt nice hearing those words from Stefan.
“Well, that honestly means a lot, Mr. Salvatore, and thank you for having so much faith in me, and I will surely take your advice into consideration and find something that truly defines me as I am,” she paused for a second and continued, “I got one question though…would I still retain my position as your receptionist if I go on and look for other options for myself?”
Stefan chuckled admiring Elena’s sense of humor, it was in a long time that he had felt this lively in someone else’s company, “Yes ‘Lena, you will always have a place here at The Salvatore Industries, you are a part of the family now.”
Elena giggled and both of them returned to their respective tasks.
It was almost midnight when Stefan was picking up the last file to check the girl sitting beside him stole his attention. He stopped for a while to admire the dedication with which Elena was working. Her hands were moving non-stop highlighting the key points, her eyes focused on analyzing the piece of information in front of her. When Stefan looked at her, he found serenity and a sense of calmness. Like the kind of sight that brings natural peace, and you can just stare at it as long as you want to, and it will never cease to bring calmness to you.
Elena was a beautiful person both inside and out. Her compassion, kind heart, and caring nature made her even more attractive. Stefan found it difficult to resist thinking about her in this way, despite knowing it was not appropriate. These feelings were sparked by Elena's recent arrival in his life, and he couldn't ignore them.
Stefan leaned in towards Elena without realizing it, and to his surprise, Elena leaned in closer too. They paused for a moment, making deep eye contact. Elena leaned in even further, and Stefan understood her hint. As they got closer, Elena closed her eyes. However, as their lips touched, Elena suddenly panicked and opened her eyes, realizing something.
Elena felt overwhelmed with regret and worry. She couldn't help but think about the consequences of her actions, especially how Mr. Salvatore would perceive her. She wished she had more control over herself and hadn't jeopardized their professional relationship. Without hesitation, she stood up and wished to return home as soon as possible.
“Um…I…” Elena felt short of words, “I think we are done with most of the work Mr. Salvatore. I will see you on Monday. Have a good night,” she said as she left the building in haste.
Stefan stood in silence, consumed by guilt for his actions. He blamed himself for making Elena uncomfortable. However, a part of him wished he had acted differently. He regretted letting go of Elena and wished he had held her hand, kissed her with passion and care, and expressed his true feelings. Now, all he could do was wonder what could have been if he hadn't let her go.

You slipped your sixth shot of whiskey down your throat, pouring another as you listened to Elena and Damon put their vamp skills to good use again. It just reminded you of what you couldn't be, and you had to admit it made you a little sick to be the only one who couldn’t defend herself. The only one so vulnerable, so mortal. Nobody would let you turn, everyone just wanted to keep you 'pure.' Your blood boiled just thinking about it. You decided you weren’t gonna just stand there and listen to them fuck, so you took your shot and slammed the glass down so hard it shattered. You headed for the door, not waiting around in the Salvatore house for Stefan when all you could hear was thudding and graphic moans.
As you stumbled to the door you went through your purse to find your car keys. Grabbing the handle and pulling the door open you were met with Stefans confused face. You walked right by him, “You know, if you were gonna be late we could’ve met at the Grill.” Stefan beat you to the car, taking the keys from you and putting you in the passenger seat. You pulled out your flask and began drinking, “Sorry I was late love, don’t you think you could slow down?” your blood boiled.
“Listen sweetheart, I know that you think you know what’s best, but the drinking isn’t a problem.” Stefan shakes his head as you take yet another swig, “Why do you keep drinking so much anyway?” You smiled big, clearly not wanting to talk about it, "After listening to Elena and Damon fuck for an hour, I think it's okay," raising the flask as if you’d raise your glass, spinning around to lay your head on his leg, you down a good mouthful of liquor, “So babe, how come you were late anyway?” Stefan sighed, “I got caught up hunting was a little hungrier than normal.” You gently reached your hand up and rubbed Stefan’s arm reassuringly, “It's okay to be hungry, I know it’s hard.”
You arrived at the grill, quickly pulling the bottle from your backseat and refilling your now empty flask. Stefan met you at your side of the car, allowing you to slide your arm perfectly with his for support. "It's lovely, ya know?" You mumbled as Stefan opened the door for you, "What is Y/N/N?" Sliding into the booth, "To be so drunk all the time that I don't have all the flies buzzing 'round me. All the little worries just whoosh, and everything is just so fun." Matty comes up to you and Stefan, taking your order and allowing you to order a rum and coke and a random meal.
After about ten minutes, Matty brings you another drink, you slammed it back, chugging and pounding the glass on the table a little too hard. Matty saluted you, bringing you another. You went back to back for a good half hour. Matty started to sit down another for you, but Stefan interjected, “I think she’s had enough tonight Matt.” Matt nodded, looking at your disheveled figure, head lying on the tables arms crossed under your head, ready to pass out. “‘M ready to go home,” you mumbled as you laid back in your booth, happily relaxing into the overly inviting cushions. Stefan lightly laughed, trying to cover the true concern he had for you.
Even though you guys had been dating nearly a year, this is how it always was. At first, he didn’t notice it, but the closer you two got the more you allowed him to see. You had finally explained to him that it was ‘your normal,’ that it had been since the night at the haunted house and Stefan almost died trying to save you from a vampire. Stefan looks at you for a minute, recalling the words he would never forget you said, “Nobody gave a shit back then so don’t start caring now.” Stefan picked you up out of the booth, carrying you to your car and softly closing the door. As he got back into the car, he noticed you trying to finish off your flask. He had decided in that moment, enough was enough. He took your flask from you, eliciting a heavy groan from you that didn’t last long because of your truly fucked state. The last thing you remember is laying your head on his leg as your normal position, his fingers running softly through your hair.
When you woke up the next morning you instantly ran to the bathroom, unlucky to be one of the times you had a hangover. You pounded on the floor next to your toilet, trying to alert Stefan. He was instantly next to you, handing you a cup, no doubt his special morning blend with enough of his blood to make all of this go away. He gently pulled your hair up and wrapped it in a bun, watching as you drank the contents of the cup, knowing it would be over soon. In truth, it was. After you finished chugging the cup you leaned back onto Stefan. “Good morning,” you laughed, “I hate for us to start it this way,” Stefan mumbled as he kissed your forehead, sliding his arms under yours and pulling you to your feet. You spun around to face him, “What the fuck?” you near shouted. “Why do you have to nit pick so fucking early?”
"It's not nit picking, Y/N" He tried to speak non-confrontational, "I am genuinely worried about you. This isn't healthy-you're not invincible to this." You scoffed, pushing past him and downstairs to your kitchen, Stefan following suit as you spoke, "You mean I'm human, right? Defenseless and vulnerable?" You shook your head, interrupting him as he tried to speak, "No-don't even, this wouldn't be a problem if I was a vampire. If I wasn't so fucking needy, always pitifully needing protecting, can't even decide how much liquor to drink." You slammed the coffee pot back in it's place, impatiently waiting for it to finish. "I don't think you're pitiful or needy. I think that you're drinking too much and putting your life in needless danger and you won't tell me why."
You flailed your arms, spinning around to pour yourself a cup of coffee, grabbing a bottle of liquor and starting to pour some in, but Stefan's hand is on the bottle. You slammed the bottle down turning to Stefan, shoving him back with every scream, "You stupid fucking," shove, "I told you," shove, "it makes me feel better!" shove. You sighed, "I'm sorry," running your hands on your face, sighing again, "Just, get the fuck out Stefan." You turned back to your cup, pouring the liquor, only to be stopped by Stefan, "No." Your blood boiled, "Get the fuck out!!" Stefan took the bottle from you, setting it back on the counter, "Not if when I leave you're just going to drink that."
You instantly threw your coffee cup, watching it shatter into pieces before grabbing the bottle and turning it up. You chugged and chugged until Stefan pulled it away from you, "You gonna fucking leave now?" Stefan stepped closer to you, hating the way the alcohol burned his nose, like a poison coming off of you, "Baby, I'm not going anywhere." You screamed, out of frustration or shame you weren't sure which, it was a blood curdling scream, slamming your hand down, hitting the liquor bottle cross the floor enjoying the way it shattered. "What the fuck is your problem?"
"You! This!" Stefan sighed, "You won't talk to me, you brush me off and act like this isn't something I should care about but it's been like this as long as I can remember, I'm worried, I can't protect-" You slammed your hands down on the counter over and over, kicking the cabinets and laughing, "Jesus Christ Stefan, I don't need your protection!" Stefan grabbed your hands, turning you to him as gently as he could, your strength diminished from the bottle of alcohol you chugged, "I want to protect you, I want to, I know you don't need it, I want to," his voice to a whisper at the end of his plea, "I want to," his hand moved from your wrist to your face, "I love you, I want you to be around as long as possible, I need to protect you, you don't need me to, I do."
You sighed, your forehead resting on his, "I love you too," you pulled your wrists back, "I'm sorry." Starting to pull away from him to clean the mess up, he was gone and back before you noticed the mess was gone. "Talk to me," Stefan said as you walked past him, sitting on the couch. "I hate myself," you sighed, "I'm so weak and puny, I feel like I'm always in the way," you shrugged, "I get so angry all the time, maybe not even at other people, really at myself," leaning against Stefan as he put his arm around you, "Drinking helps, really?" he asked hoping to hear an honest response. "If I'm honest? No, I just feel like it's better than feeling like this all the time."
Stefan slid his arm under your legs, his free arm moving your arm around his neck before moving around your waist and standing up. "What?" You looked up at him, he smiled, "I have something that might help." In the next moment, you guys were out of your house and watching everything rush by until you hit forest. Suddenly Stefan stopped running, setting you down gently, smiling, "I was gonna show you to this on our anniversary, it's not finished yet, but I don't see why we can't go ahead and visit."
You started to ask what he meant until you saw it-near dead ahead was a large clearing, but it had been worked on, there was a stack of rocks with one slab of rock covered in the softest moss you'd ever touched, "So you can read and do homework comfortably," Stefan said, pointing up to the makeshift roof of vines that you now notice wrap around the trees, making a circle around the clearing, you loudly gasp, taken by the beauty and effort he's already put into this for you, for your relationship.
You continue to look around as he points to an obvious training area, he smiles, "I know that you've been struggling, but I didn't realize how much," he moved closer to you, his front now pressed against your back, arms encircling your waist, chin resting on your shoulder, whispering in your ear, "I'm gonna have Bonnie protect it, it's gonna be just us here, me n you gonna relax, you're gonna read over there, train over there, we can put a table for picnicking over there-" he points to an area that is close to the moss bed, "and lots of flowers and colors, to always brighten our day, gonna put a vine door-" you turned around and kissed him.
Your hands were on the side of his face, hair intertwining with his hair, he lifted you up, your legs circling his waist, you feel him smile. You pulled back, "I love it, thank you, this is going to be great," you kissed him again, "you know, it is our space, I could help you put stuff together, whatever you wanted to add." Stefan nodded, kissing your forehead, "I think when you wanna drink we should come here." You kissed under his ear, trailing down his neck, "two conditions," Stefan hummed, moving his head to the side he allowed you more access as he pressed you against one of the many trees that circled the clearing.
"Well, we'll come here when I wanna drink, if we'll come here when you get hungry," Stefan let out a small groan as you bit his neck gently, loving how he pulled your hair. "And the second?" He asked as your hands traced down his torso, grabbing the hem of his shirt, "you fuck me, now." He smiled, kissing you hard, and the next thing you know, you're sitting on the edge of the moss bed. "Easy," he pulls off your shirt, admiring your body for a moment, "it's a deal."
A/N; I would love some feedback it motives me! You can ask something about episode too if somethings didn’t made sense to you!
Summary; (Y/N) devoted her life to extraordinary events. She strangely liked going into trouble. She wanted to try everything in his life. And she didn't want to die without seeing everything. When her path comes to Mystic falls. Her life changed.
Warnings:Corpse, No Vampirism ect. But still supernatural. Time-travel? Mystic Falls is cursed? Some grammer mistakes.
It was absolutely crazy to go to another town because of her letter to her house. But she couldn't do that any other time. At first she thought someone was making fun of her. Then she decided to investigate the town. There was no photo of the town. Only Articles about missing people. (Y/N) didn’t want to go but she was curious. This was her life and her job. What happened the next day? She had collected her belongings. She started walking to look for a taxi. She knew the taxis wouldn't take her there. So she would take a part of the road by taxi, and for the rest she would walk the way. Perfect plan!
When she arrived in front of town it didn't take long for her to realize what an old town it was. It had a old smell. ıt was like a book that wait for ten years to open. Mystic Falls was written on a broken tree sign that seemed to fall at any moment. It looked like it was straight out of an old movie. It was cold, there was a slight fog, and it was terrifyingly quiet. She moved forward with gentle and silent steps. It was not dark, Actually It was strangely bright. She saw a lighted shop. It was weird but she had nothing to lose. She didn't think there would be a maniac. At least she wanted to believe it. She enterd the shop.
"Is anyone there?" she yelled softly.
There was no sound. This was a shop. Or it used to be a shop. The vending machine, whose light was flashing and making a sound, the cobwebs in some places and the smell of mold did not give her a sense of confidence. She came out of the shop when she understand that ıt was abandoned. She started walking more around the town. She felt more and more used to the place. As she walked, she realized how big the town actually was. She sat down on a bench to get some rest. She closed her eyes and soon felt warmth in her feet. This heat suddenly seemed strange to her, and when she saw that it was a cat, she tried to pet her. The cat was strangely humane. It looked very noble, with jet black charcoal and sharp green eyes. (Y/N) suprised when she saw that cat had a colar. The colar was old. It didn’t had a name on it.
"Where's your owner? Will you take me there?" She asked as she petted the cat. As if understanding her, the cat rubbed its head against her hand and began to move forward. (Y/N) followed it. They were in front of an old manor house. The windows were broken. Some of the brown bricks were on floor. Flowers were faded. It was so overwhelming. The cat stopped and looked at (Y/N). She enterd the house. She knew she couldn’t get an answer ıf she asked for someone. The smell was so bad. She enterd a living room type of room. Walpappers were ripped. There were some red- was that blood? The vases were broken. There was a fireplace and a portrait of a man above the fireplace. He looked so young. He was handomse. His eyes were shining. His clothes were neat. He looked lika a noble man. She wiped off the dust with her hand so that she could read the name on the frame.
Stefan Salvatore
1890-1919
She felt a sadness. She hear the cat’s meows. They sounded painfull. When she go to the place that cat meowed. Her eyes opend. The smell was terrible. ıt was nauseous. She saw the man that she saw on portrait. There was a axe on his chest. His forest green eyes were now empty. His skin was white as paper. His tumbs were purple. His chest was collapsed. His stomach was swollen. (Y/N) closed her mouth and ran away. She had to get out of this town and call the cops. This town was cursed. She ran as fast as she can. The air was getting clearer and darker as She got away from the manor. When she came to the exit, she noticed that the door was closed. She tried to climb but could not even hold the anchors, the bars were cold. She saw a letter on the ground. She didn’t saw it when she came.
Dear (Y/N),
No one can escape from Mystic Falls. Come on smile! You look terrible!
-Mr. Mystic
(Y/N) looked around. Who was ‘Mr. Mystic’? He must be in here. She felt the warm tears. She was ready for anything now, but she was definitely not ready to pass out with a blow to her head.
She woke up in a comfortable place. It was like her bed. So It was a dream huh. She opened her eyes and saw the man that she saw on portrait. What the hell was going on. Tha man opend his mouth.
‘‘Hello Mrs. You were unconscious on my door. My anme is Stefan. I was worried so I carried you here with my brother Damon. Here have some painkillers.’‘
Damon? She didn’t saw his portrait or his body. She get the painkillers
‘‘My name is (Y/N). I really don’t remeber how I came to your door.’‘ She had an idea but he would find it funny an unbelievable. (Y/N) didn’t want to believe it but she had no options. An idea came to her mind.
‘‘What year are we in?" Stefan lookd at her.
‘‘1919. But why did you asked?’‘
Now (Y/N) felt like she was gonna faint again. How did she came into 1919? And how a dead man was alive?

Caroline could not spend time with her mother. As Caroline couldn’t cross the Mystic Falls border, they had to meet just outside of Mystic Falls. Elena had it worse of all. She lost her best friend and her boyfriend Stefan. Stefan finally had the hope to get his best friend Lexi back but unfortunately Luke abruptly stopped Liv from doing the spell leaving Bonnie, Damon, and Lexi on the other side.
When Stefan got the news that Lexi and Damon are not coming back, he was devastated. He could not handle that pain and in turn, he flipped his humanity switch. No one could get him to turn his humanity back on. That was the thing with Stefan, he was an escapist he wanted to escape from all the overwhelming emotions and the thought of never seeing his brother ever again. He knew the consequences of turning into a ripper, but the pain of losing his brother overcame the love he had for his girl. He could not bear the loss and somehow felt that it was all his fault.
His ripper side worried everyone. He got admission into Whitmore college and started recklessly feeding off the students with no remorse.
Elena with help of her friends tried it all, the sweet talk of love, trying to show him hope, trying to tell him that their love is worth holding on to. When the talks failed, they adopted ‘The Lexi Method’. In some way, Enzo deceived Stefan and injected him with vervain. They locked him up, tortured him, and starved him. Nothing seemed to work, he was acting extremely stubborn this time. One day when Enzo went in to check on Stefan, he was surprised to see him gone. He had escaped and was nowhere to be found.
Elena lost all hope to get the love of her life back. She was not a vampire who could just turn her emotions off, she was a human and had no way to escape the feelings. She felt hollow and did want to have that spark of hope anymore. She soon realized that she had to keep herself together, she had to go through her life, and she had to keep moving. Maybe the love she was holding onto was not worth it and if their love was real Stefan would find a way back to her.
To distract herself she decided to throw Caroline a birthday party. To Elena it does not matter if her world was falling apart, she always wanted the best for her friends and she wanted everyone to make a fresh start, therefore she planned a surprise party for Caroline at the McKinley diner near their college since they could not go to the Grill. Back to the present, there she was sitting lifeless at the table “pretending” to enjoy the party.
“Oh, come on Elena, snap out of!” said Caroline as she knew Elena was lying to her about forgetting about Stefan. She knew her best friend more than anyone in the world.
“You need to get over that selfish man who could not even hold onto the love you had for him. Look around so many cute and hot guys are here at the party, and Liam hasn’t taken his eyes off of you the whole night, you should go talk to him aren’t you guys in the same class?”
“Yes, Caroline we are. But I am not in the mood for talking to guys and stuff,” said Elena.
Caroline pouted at the response “No I am not listening to you, it’s my birthday and you have to do as the birthday girl says,” she demanded.
Caroline was not wrong. Elena was a beautiful girl, and she wore a black laced V-neck dress exposing her cleavage but in a cute way. Elena could date any guy she wanted to, but she still missed Stefan, he was her soulmate after all.
But as Caroline insisted further, she walked up to Liam and talked to him. He was sweet, respectful, and hot. For a while Elena felt good, she had a smile on her face that was missing for the past month, and after a long time, she was happy.
She decided to leave for the dormitory early as she wanted to spend some time alone with herself and reflect on her thoughts.
“Hey, could I walk you to your room?” asked Liam politely.
“Um, thank you so much for asking Liam, but you should enjoy the party, it's still early. I'll be fine.”
“Yeah, yeah sure! So, see you in class?”
“Yeah, see you!” Elena smiled and proceeded towards the college.
The night was cold as it was October. Elena forgot to bring her coat and wanted to reach her room as fast as possible. Elena looked up and the sight of the night sky was alluring. The stars were shining brightly, and the pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw. She sighed and grinned at the sight in front of her eyes.
As she was walking towards the college, Stefan appeared in front of her out of nowhere and started walking with her. But she did not care, she was hurt enough and did not want to let her guard down again. She ignored him and started walking on her path.
“So, you are ignoring me now?” asked Stefan.
“What do you want Stefan?”
“Nothing, I just thought you could use some company as you are alone. Is it safe for you to be all alone at this hour of the night?” questioned Stefan.
“Why do you even care? Huh? You left me remember?”
“Oh no, I do not care at all. I don’t care if you are bitten by a vampire or get attacked by some drunk asshole. I just wanted to have some company because I was getting bored and look you are in a need of company too.”
Elena scoffed, “Well the vampire who was rashly feeding ran away so I guess I am safe," said Elena savagely.
Before Stefan could say anything, Elena continued, “you don’t get to do this Stefan. There was a man who loved me, who would do anything to protect me, but he left me and with him, all my feelings for him left too. He could not care less about the connection we had, about the memories we had. He left me. You don’t get to show up anytime you want to and pretend like you did not do anything like you didn’t hurt anyone. Just leave me alone, okay? I do not want you here no one does.”
Elena was on the verge of crying, but she did not want to show Stefan that she cared. She was strong enough to tell him that he made a mistake. Stefan stood there speechless as Elena walked away from him. Doesn't matter how hard she tried, the memories flooded back to her, she started thinking about the time when they were together and how he would do anything to save her. But unfortunately, that Stefan was far gone, and this thought made her sob and tears started streaming down her face as she continued walking.
She stopped abruptly as she saw a tall man standing in front of her, she was terrified and for a moment lost all her senses. Her heart was racing inside her chest as the man started walking closer to her, she reached for the pepper spray in her bag and sprayed it all over his face. This gave her a little head start and she ran as fast as she could, but that man was faster and as she turned she saw him standing right in front of her with the speed of light. She realized that he was a vampire. She gasped and decided to run again but before she could take any action, the vampire sunk his fangs into Elena’s neck.
Elena drowned in a terrifying blankness, the pain was hot and sharp. She could not scream, and tears started flowing down her eyes as she started losing consciousness. Before the vampire could suck more blood, he was thrown away from her and Elena fell to the ground. She was not strong enough to stand but she could see everything that was happening. Stefan came to her rescue. Stefan was infuriated by the incident and had no control over his anger, he walked up to the vampire in rage and ripped his heart out.
Stefan soon realized that Elena was hurt and needed help. He saw Elena and froze at the sight. Elena’s blood was rushing out of her body frantically and Stefan started losing control. He could smell her blood, he could hear the veins pumping inside her body, his face turned blue-black and his eyes red. He felt helpless and uneasy.
“Stefan, please don’t,” Elena whined. “Stefan, please don’t hurt me. You can control it, Stefan, just breathe.”
Stefan shut his eyes and took a deep breath. The veins started disappearing from his face and his eyes came back to normal. He rushed towards Elena and knelt on her body. He took her into his arms and bit one of his wrists to feed her some of his blood to save her life as she was losing consciousness. Elena started feeling better and glared into Stefan’s beautiful green eyes, the eyes she missed staring into.
“You flipped your switch?” Elena whimpered.
“Yes, I did. I am so sorry Elena. I should not have done that. I should not have left you alone, I should have understood that you were going through the same thing. You lost your best friend too. I am so sorry to abandon you like that and to turn my back on you. I promise that I am here with you. We will go through this together. I love you so much and I never want to leave you ever again. I committed a terrible mistake, Elena, please forgive me.”
Tears were streaming down Stefan’s eyes as he could see that just because of him Elena was hurt and that she could have died tonight. He was hurt because of the pain that Elena had to go through because of him and he was apologetic about it. He wanted to make everything okay. He was trapped under a pile of guilt and felt terrible.
“It’s okay Stefan. I forgive you. There is nothing more than okay to know that you are here with me and that you turned your humanity back on. I love you too Stefan, more than anything. I am so glad that you were here to save me, I could have died,” said Elena wiping tears off Stefan’s face while sobbing.
Stefan cut her off and said, “Hey, don’t say that. And I feel terrible that you had to nearly die to get my humanity back. I am here for you always and remember you are Elena Gilbert, you always survive.” Elena lightly chucked and said, “I love you, Stefan, we are in this together.”
Stefan held her tight like he was never going to let her go ever again. He loved her and she loved him. The connection between them was impenetrable. They were soulmates and no matter what the circumstances were, they always found a way back to each other.
Stefan kissed her forehead, and whispered in her ears while he engulfed her in a hug, “I love you more, always and forever.”

Wow! I just cannot believe the level if angst going on in this episode. Katherine/Nadia, Bonnie, Silas/Amara, Qetsiyah, and STEFAN! I gotta say, I'm glad TVD isn't just planning to brush over the fact that he's been in agony for three months! This is going to be such a great storyline and I'm telly hoping the writers don't just use it to tease Stelena.. I wanted it to be BOTH of you! When the camera moved to show Damon there I just about started sobbing. I need them to go there with the brotherly aspects of this. I need Damon to be there for Stefan and I need angst! So much angst! TVD always teases the brotherly love (Season 3!!) and Julie Plec CLAIMS that she's all about the bromance but I need to actually see it and not just another attempt to bring every last detail about this show back to the stupid love triangle! (SIDE NOTE: did anyone else notice how Elena's whole speech about needing Stefan to be okay had NOTHING to do with Stefan!? Her whole reason for wanting him to be okay was so that she can justify having the "summer of her life" while he was in pain. She wants to feel better about herself and that's the only reason she wants Stefan to be okay! Like honestly she is so unbelievably self absorbed! It's actually sickening. I love Katherine and even in the very short time we saw Amara I love her too but I can't stand Elena!)
