My mind is on Stelvar during Phase 1 and my mind keeps playing their branch of the polycule as the old married power couple whose marriage is on the rocks because of stress.
It's kind of wild when you think about it -- Stellan basically ends up being her boss rather than just her best friend. And they're both under enormous pressure from all sides, literally with the weight of the galaxy on both of their shoulders, respectively.
What they both need from the other is friendship and support; but unfortunately, that is hard to come by. The trouble is that they both know each other better than almost anyone in the galaxy; whenever they're both involved, something's going to be personal.
