we know from the first IT movie that bill draws people he likes (i.e. his drawing of beverly)
do you think theo/boris/stan have any quirks like that? any ways to vent out excessive affection, i guess is a good way to put it . what do they do when the others consume their thoughts ?
hiiiiiiii !! im still cooking up a response to your stenboreo feels ask but yesss i do have thoughts about this! fisrt of all we havent super talked ab adult stenboreo bc we're rping steo as kids but i think its super unique that we're drawign from books/movies that give us adult and kid versions of our guys so im gonna split this ip into kid and adult versions WITH PROOF
bill: as you said he draws his boys! he'll leave little drawings of them for them to find and they love them so much. stan keeps them on his desk, theo keeps a folder, and boris somehow always has one stashed away somewhere. he swears he's gonna get one tattooed as soon as he looks old enough for a tattoo salon to let him in. bill blushes every time he says this
stan: man is the WORST at flirting but he tries. in the vein of his bird nicknames, he'll walk up to one of the boys and, while tomato-red (obviously), compare him to an obscure bird species. his go-to is bird comparisons. no one else understands them (bill bought a bird book and they're TRYING to learn but stan keeps coming out of nowhere with "variegated antpitta" and "white-booted racket-tail" and man those were NOT in Backyard Birds of Maine)
theo: theo doesn't honestly show his affection very well because as a kid he's really closed off, depressed, repressed, etc. but that makes it much more impactful when he is vulnerable. the boys are all super honored when he chooses to share his feelings and trauma with them and they understand it's not easy for him. "hey how are you doing" turns into an all-day affair but they're more than happy to talk with him and get him tissues and ice cream because they're happy theo's opening up with them
boris: boris is REALLY cuddly and touchy. he loves nothing more than to hug his boys and flop all over them. he's all over stan/bill/theo he's the cuddliest motherfucker ever to exist. he has no concept of personal space. none of the others really seek out being touched but honestly they don't need to and it's not like they have a choice in the matter
bill: he keeps trying to make them characters in his books and it somehow ALWAYS goes wrong. he got backlash over his boris character for "encouraging hedonism" and people said he was "getting repetitive in his characterization" because the stan and theo characters were "too similar." he also got accused of queerbait five separate times and was called, according to one queer newsletter, "the most homophobic writer still publishing." the boys mock him relentlessly. he's trying his best ok
stan: while by this point the boys know their birds way better so the bird flirting doesn't go over their heads, stan's also learned to tone down the "you're just like a common loon to me <3" and "your eyes remind me of a great tit <3" because he's grown a little more aware of how that sounds (just kidding. richie bullied him. "oh eds my love you're like boobs and crazy people" and then eddie punched him in the mouth). he's very thoughtful and is like the best gift-giver of the four of them, he always knows how to make the others feel better when they need it. he loves planning gifts, trips, etc. for the boys and they are literally always perfect this man has a sixth sense for it. he's crazy thoughtful, he'll make bill writing playlists for when he's working or get boris fingerless gloves because he's noticed that boris has sensory issues with full gloves but always gets really cold (this one's an hc but boris canonically likes to wear fingerless gloves ONLY so permit me my autism ray gun). just the sweetest guy EVER i love him
theo: a lot of his adult affection showing is with pippa, and let it be known he's a piece of shit with her. so i'm making an executive decision that dates, buying expensive shit, etc. is actually Evil Theo and shall henceforth be banished. which means we're fully in stenboreo fanon realm because his love language with boris is all the profanities known to man and i don't know that that'd fly with stenbrough. anywayyyyy theo is Housewife Supreme as an adult and he likes making meals for the boys! this is from the vegas era of the book btw and carries over from when he was a kid. he likes making the boys favorite meals for them and he's a shockingly good cook. stan, boris, and bill fight over who gets to do the dishes for him lmao
boris: he's not as touchy as he was as a kid, but if one of the boys hugs him they're staying there for an hour at least. he isn't nearly as good at expressing affection as an adult (hc but he also sent theo into several prolonged panic attacks trying to say sorry in amsterdam and arguably theo tried to off himself because of one of boris's apology dramatics so. you know. he's a hot mess) (emphasis on hot btw). he doesn't really start anything but he's really domestic if they can get him to settle down for a minute. so like movie nights, etc, he'll be cuddly, but he's a lot less. idk how to say this. carefree? than he was? curse the book for not focusing on boris's trauma go read poaym and come back with draft 2 donna tartt.
come to think of it a lot of the adult stuff relies on how we traumatize them in between childhood and adulthood. it's just boris specifically i think by the time he's an adult he's reached status of Most Traumatized and man.... idk what to do with that..... i miss my son......
