STAN IS SO STRANGE so i thought id ask a couple stenboreo questions :333
how do you think the others would deal with Stan being Cryptic TM? In book canon he says things such as "the turtle couldn't help us" and *knows* stuff- he knew which job patty should take out of all of the offers she got, for example. and bill would be none the wiser- Mike states he doesn't think any of the other losers know about the turtle and none of them mention it but Stan- so basically how would Theo and Boris and maybe also Bill react to Stan being Weird
ALSO (and this is for adult stenboreo specifically) bill at some point has to fly to England to shoot for a movie !! so how do you think the boys would handle that sort of thing ??

okay. so. i think funniest option here is that bill remains oblivious forever. oh yeah stan just says stuff sometimes :) isnt he cute :) and that can go as awww its a quirk of his. no yeah he's been like this since we were kids you get used to it. or like full on proper name place name backstory stuff whenever stan is spouting the Ancient Prophecies. wowwwwww has anyone seen how pretty and eyeball-esque his eyes are. huh what's that babe i was totally listening yeah.
theo i feel is the "stop saying odd shit" one. stans like O.O death will come for us all but the turtle t h e t u r t l e i s t h e r e and theo goes "youre scaring the dog." (popchyk is an immortal being who does not feel fear. theo stop projecting onto your gay little dog) but only if he's sober. when theo is high or drunk and stan does the turtle spiel theo goes "man boris got u the good stuff huh." cue stan, completely sober: "yeah he did." maybe that's just adult!stenboreo au!theo but like. the sillyyyyy....
boris in his eternal wisdom accepts stan's bs at face value.
stan: the gap between what can be known and what is transient to beings such as us is thinning.

theo and bill, in the doorway: what in the ever loving fuckery are you two talking about
AND THEN!! in terms of travel for work, since theo, bill, and boris all travel for work (does stan have a job? does he travel?). theo travels for antique work post-tgf canon, boris travels forever and always for work et al., bill occasionally travels for movie shit and book signings and all that jazz. stan. um. he has a job, right? i don't know. something i am forgetting. bird... um. i know it's not ornithology professor even though he looks like he should be one. maybe he's an ornithology professor in this au. maybe he gets some shred of happiness have we considered that. maybe he gets to teach people about the thing he loves. maybe even he gets to enjoy things sometimes.
i think we've said boris would settle down quite a bit in stenboreo au, but i still think he likes adventure and doing new things enough that even if he doesn't travel far often, he's usually getting up to some shit. and whenever the boys travel he'll often try to go along with them cause he needs to be FREE you cannot CHAIN me like one of stan's birds, ey? i am HOUSEWIFE now? cannot leave all day? cook you meals for when you are done with the 9 to 5? other such tomfoolery from that one. what a tomfooler am i right. he doesn't like being in the house so he's usually doing something in the city. he bounces between jobs also i think, but mainly out of sheer boredom. they. uh. they live in new york, yeah? where do stan and bill live? imma have to check the ancient texts (old stenboreo asks) and get back to you on the Logisticals. emotionally speaking:
theo doesn't like travel at all. he does not like it. he hates traveling. he Has to sometimes and he hatessss it. the boys facetime constantly, they're always on the phone or texting, and the rest of the boys feel bad enough for him or are too busy laughing over how wet-cat he looks to be that distressed over him traveling. also it happens so rarely and for such short timespans that it's really nothing. boris gets moody, but when does he not, so bill and stan just try to distract him. they're counting down the clock like SIX MORE HOURS UNTIL THEO LANDS BORIS YOU CANNOT "GET HIT BY CARS JUST TO FEEL SOMETHING" WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN
when boris travels he gets upset that his boys aren't there. when he isn't traveling he's upset that he's not traveling. get this man on a family vacation STAT!! send them to south america to go birding like im not kidding they need a family vacation. when boris is traveling alone he doesn't like the boys calling him cause they're ""being clingy""" but the MOMENT he's not doing something he's calling them. its 2am boris what. oh i cannot want to see my boyfriends? i cannot want to see how they are doing? ah, you do not love me? boris what the fuck are you on about of course we love you are the hotel sheets too scratchy or something why are you saying this. you will never believe it stan the ac is broken and i am freezing to death. oh if only i had my boyfriends to warm me up but NO i am going to contract HYPOTHERMIA. ALONE. FORSAKEN. and if he misses them too bad he wont say anything but he'll cancel all plans and take a flight home immediately.
bill is the most normal about travel. he's like. he's just normal about it. he calls the boys frequently but he's not clingy. he doesn't like being away from them, but he's also good to travel for work. he misses them, obviously, but he has to stay, it's his book they're adapting! no, he's got to stay, no, he can't just leave for a week, noooo its fineeeeee. and then the boys fly out to join him as a surprise :) cause i love them :)
