Each day, multiple times per day your body systematically gets rid of anything it doesn't need. How then, is it so difficult for us to do the same either psychologically or with physical things? Think about it, how many items do you have in a closet, junk drawer or basement that you have not used in the past 6 months? How many times have you become upset again by the same daunting issue or emotion?
Us humans tend to accumulate so much within our homes and our hearts when our natural body is constantly cleaning out and removing that which doesn't serve its host. When it comes to separating even from a single item we toggle with deciding if it is something we actually want or need. I'm sure you have said to yourself, "I might need this someday."
How often do you think your digestive system uses that excuse? Never unless you are in starvation mode. Rather it TRUSTS that tomorrow, it will get the nutrients it needs. I doubt that any of our closets, junk drawers, file cabinets or storage spaces are starving. So why don't you take a few minutes in this new year to release that which doesn't serve you today? ... Your body just did last time you where on the John. ;-)
