Public displays of parenting. I wish someone would of called me out on my parenting challenges when my children were younger. We get so caught up in the moment our emotions get the best of us and we say things to our children out of frustration and overwhelm and our children look at us like we have five heads and say “what did I do?” It is in those moments we have to try and make ourselves aware that our emotions are fueling our stress And result in the actions we take in response to our children’s behavior. This emotionally charged action can have an adverse effect on them. What we need to do is try to begin to catch ourselves when we feel overwhelmed and take a step back and ask ourselves what does my child really need in this moment? Do they need a hysterical emotionally wrecked parent or do they need me to take a step back, regroup and be the parent they crave to help them overcome the challenge they are presently having. We need to become the parent the child needs in that moment and stop fantasizing about the one we thought we were supposed to be. Parent it forward and share your wisdom.🤘#awareparenting #stepmumlife #stepmomadvice #momsanddads #parentblog #parentingteensishard #parentingteenagers #parentingteens #parentingtips #parenting101 #momofateen #lifewithteenagers #angryparents #angrykids #mommystress #parentinggirls #parentingboys #parentproblems #bonusmama #positiveparenting #singleparenting #americanmom #beingamomishard #mummytoboys #parentslove #intuitiveparenting #exhaustedparents #momneeds #mommyneedsvodka #consciousparent (at Boston, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7UD7QlFytl/?igshid=pb1zrjcjqc9j
