Hey why do you think Steve Dangle has become so evil?
ok I know he's become hard to deal with as a real, level-headed toronto maple leafs fan, but I really don't think he's evil. I used to really enjoy sdpn, and I think steve specifically was great at sportsnet. I just think that there's only one way to engage with this fanbase profitably and it is by spreading negativity. he knows he will get more engagement with his content if he is critical of the leafs and plays into the generally pessimistic vibe of the fanbase. everyone is mad at mitch? steve is too. everyone loves mitch? so does steve! if twitter thinks auston is a bad captain then steve will make a video about it. if twitter thinks auston is our lord and saviour he'll make a video about it. if willy isn't scoring then he's not worth the money but when he was on that point streak brad was an idiot for not signing him earlier. right now extending jt is a no brainer but if stops scoring then he's a terrible leader and we should ship him off to chicago. as soon as steve took the leap and made sdpn his full time career, his job became exclusively engagement farming. I don't think he's a bad guy, I don't think he's even as stupid a leafs fan as he comes off online, I just think he is willing to sacrifice his integrity for a paycheque and because of that his content has become less interesting to me and his online persona has become more insufferable to me.
Iconic.
that’s too damn bad!!!
Rick Westhead talks about his new book " we breed lions" and I think everyone should listen to it (or/and buy the book). It's about the toxic hockey culture, sexual assault, hazing and other, similar topics.
As much as I dislike Steve dangle for some of his takes, he and his podcast are one, if not the only major hockey podcasts to adress the issues in (youth) hockey. He reported about the trial and now Rick's book, in a serious way, really props to him and the two others.
He's so happy hockey is back
The way he just sits there while being interviewed 🤣🤣
