Wild Mountain Honey is written by Steve McCarty. The song is about his concern for the environment (‘don’t treat your lovin’ goodness for the golden machine’). McCarty recorded an ‘organic’ version of the song in 2009: ‘Without synthesizers, all real instruments’. A clarinet, oboe, violin, cello and also instruments from the Middle East and Africa. The song has been voted as one of the ‘trippiest song ever’.
