Bellerophon lore is wild and needs to get talked about more
modern writers really need to be careful when the talk about woman being villianized because honestly about of the time the ones we hold up as ones who got villianized actually are the ones who got whitewashed like lucian says this "For my part I do not believe that either Stheneboea nor Phaedra acted thus if Phaedra really loved Hippolytus. However, let the old version remain for what it is worth." Malalas also gives us a version where Pheadra just straight up is innocent of everything, like when talking about a woman who had their experiences lessened and then demonized, you gotta do your research, Like a character actually went through that is Danae, whose entire gold rain thing is explained by later writers as a metaphor for corruption and prostitution, EVEN AFTER THEY STATE that Zeus assaulted her. dark shit man, dark shit for real. also weird middle ages plays erase Iphigenia but still make clytemnestra as sympathetic as possible even tho in those versions she just sucks lol.
i guess pls retelling writers... do research.
I wonder what would’ve happened if Bellerophon was received by Perseus (or Megapenthes) instead of Proetus, since sometimes Perseus kills Proetus and replaces him. Perseus definitely would’ve been a good host and cleansed Bellerophon of his crimes, but would Stheneboea (who is Perseus’s aunt btw) still be living in Argos? Would Bellerophon still reject her advances even tho she isn’t married anymore? Would Perseus believe Stheneboea if she accused Bellerophon of assault? Would he believe Bellerophon? Would he kill him? Would he send Bellerophon on a dangerous quest? He knows more than anyone that when a king sends a warrior after a monster to kill him doesn’t usually end with the king getting what he wants.
DIONYSUS: He's got you there, Euripides. See what happened in your own home, when you made other men's wives behave like that one the stage.
EURIPIDES [much put out]: And what harm did my Stheneboas do to the community, you irritating man?
AESCHYLUS: Why, every decent woman or decent man's wife was so shocked by plays like your Bellerophon that she went straight off and took poison.
EURIPIDES: And did I invent the story of Phaedra?
AESCHYLUS: No, no, such things do happen. But the poet should keep quiet about them, not put them on the stage for everyone to copy. Schoolboys have a master to teach them, grown-ups have the poets. We have a duty to see that what we teach them is right and proper.

stheneboea answered your question “I really like to stim by feeling/squeezing the bones/ligaments/etc in...”
similar but maybe not quite right may be putting something like kandi beads into balls of playdoh and trying to get the beads out?
hmm, i’ll have to try that and see if it works... thanks for the suggestion! 🤗
stheneboea answered your question: Can anyone name eps where mac rolls his eyes? I’m...

Thank you!

those are impulsive thoughts, not intrusive thoughts. impulsive thoughts are common amongst most people, but ADHD with its relationship to poor impulse control can result in an increased frequency.
@stheneboea Okay, so then what are intrusive thoughts?? What’s the difference???
