Oh oh oh! I love this reveal in Defenders. Stick knew the Iron Fist would lead the Chaste someday, but he wasn't going to just leave it up to fate and hope they turned out to be a competent person. He saw the potential in Matt from the beginning and wanted him there in case the Iron Fist was found wanting.

Stick wasn't training Matt to be a weapon.

He was training him to be a General.

But the more time he spends with Stick, the more some…let’s just say “unsettling” information comes to light, and Frank is forced to see Matt in a new one. (Now with an epilogue.)

My thoughts: Oh this fucks immensely. Frank teams up with Stick for a hot second and has to reckon with the fact that Matt was a child soldier it's G R E A T.
