I’ve always considered myself to be a creative person. My creativity stems from learning music at a young age, writing songs, and having a big imagination as a kid. However, as I got older, and “life happened” I got a 9-5 job and for some reason, stopped learning new, creative skills. I snapped myself out of it a few years ago, and now, I want to learn as much as I can!
This week, you’ll have many chances to do so. STL Design Week is now in full effect. There are tons of opportunities to learn new skills and meet new people. Even if you’re not a designer, or in the creative field, it’s a great way to learn more about design, advertising, and new skills that you may not normally have the opportunity to learn about.
The one I’m most excited about is brought to you by my friends at Yellow Brick Studio and AIGA. You’ll be able to learn about After Effects and motion graphics. In today’s world, we all have short attention spans. Video and motion are becoming more and more popular in getting a message across quickly.
The event will take place on Friday from 3-4:30 pm. at the CIC Building at 20 S Sarah St here in St. Louis. You can find more info and RSVP here. This is a great way to dip your toe into something new, and meet some awesome people in the process. You won’t be disappointed...
Everytime I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone, and tried something new, it always paid off in a way I didn’t expect. Try that this week, a new opportunity may be right in front of you.
