I wouldn't say I'm new to the Jojos Fandom BUT are most people anti-Giomis in current⁉️ I've met multiple Jojo fans who ship or don't mind IRL, but I feel like on Pinterest or Twitter our space has been invaded the same with Diopucci. I just want a place to share my interest but many people (mostly >18) harass me (ALSO >18) Does it stop⁉️😔
Hello! I want to start off by saying that I'm by no menas an expert on the current fandom climate or anything, especially since I'm only really on Tumblr, I can only anecdotally compare the fandom I remember from like 2012-2018 to the fandom I came back to in 2022...
Actually in 2022 I genuinely felt like I was going insane bc it really felt like EVERYONE hated the ship lol I had to go through the notes of pre-part 5 anime posts to find people to follow. And that kind of gave me the vibe that giomis fans were still around, ultimately, just a lot less active and vocal in the fandom. And maybe it's just that I've found more ppl through writing fic but it does feel like things have been improving a bit??? At least it doesn't feel like a total anti-giomis echo chamber.
I also don't know any irl Jojo fans but yeah it does feel like a very online thing so you saying that doesn't surprise me.
I'm so sorry you're being harassed💔 It actually hasn't happened to me yet, maybe because I only really make giomis content, maybe ppl who also make gen stuff or other ships are more likely to be targeted once they post something "controversial"... And yeah I've seen that same sentiment about diopucci too albeit less so which I think says a lot, people really just wanna be performative about a big ship. And idk honestly but I sure as hell do hope things get better, I'm so sick of it lmfao 😔💔
