July 1st is the feast of Saint Oliver Plunkett (1625-1681), who was the Catholic Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland who was the last victim of the Popish Plot. He was beatified in 1920 and canonised in 1975, thus becoming the first new Irish saint for almost seven hundred years. He maintained his duties in Ireland in the face of English persecution and was eventually arrested and tried for treason in London. He was hanged, drawn and quartered at Tyburn on 1 July 1681, and became the last Roman Catholic martyr to die in England. Hospital Visit 469 :: Stoliver

Oliver's eyes wandered all around the inside of the Lima hospital. He'd never been in there before and his dad and Kurt always tried to keep him away from hospitals, afraid of bringing up unpleasant memories of his mother's departure in him after the way he reacted to that. But now he was just very amazed by the lightly shaded blue walls and all the hospital workers dressed in baby blue robes... or whatever they were.

"Sir?" the nurse that was leading him to Steven's room asked, seeing that he wasn't paying attention to her. He looked at her in question, almost having forgotten where he was headed until he saw the room with the label 469 on it and remember Steven saying that was his room. (Oliver had, of course, made jokes about the number upon realizing how it could be interpreted, courtesy of Steven himself.)

The woman heaved a sigh, apparently having lost her patience, and Oliver wondered what he had done wrong. In defeat, she opened the door for him. "Stay clear of the machinery," she heeded warning before departing, not even bothering to announce his arrival to Steven himself. Seriously, what did Oliver do wrong??

Shrugging, he pushed the door open the rest of the way and walked in, lips curving upwards into a smile upon seeing Steven after what seemed like ages. "Hey you," he said, closing the door behind himself by pressing his back against it. Once it clicked shut, he walked over to the bed. "Wow, so you get like free room service and stuff?"
