New pieces of rounded nature polished imprints from prehistoric sponges out of flint. I didn‘t know the genus of this sort of distant spongy.

Those are intact, i saw a lot fractured or shards from it or without the mold.

Then new two ovale shaped, grind polished from glacial force millenials + ago.

Wall stones called here, i find a lot now on near open fields and sandy area in the province but they appear a lot of fields, sandy terrain and washed out near beaches or any river or earth pits or gravel spots.

Also common in the pebble bolder pieles or forest paths.

Sadly the most seen are cut in half, broken shards of it or near ovale, the most are like this ovale, size from tiny to an egg and above,

or a lot in the shape of unique beans or kidneys with one or two tiny holes on or in them. Each have an smooth fractured texture on it like an pattern, each of them shares it. Some have an eye mold in grey on it, like the bubble white underside from the common MC Donalds buns on the underside. That is weird.

On sandy terrain or fields great little finds from ground to pick up & collect, decoration or for the garden. I enjoy finding them with others.

I find a lot of them and are here common have an box full of them - vs the sponges to compare

This stones are not fossils, pure rocks with mostly none features of fossil traces like imprint molds or bryozoan. If than also rare cases.

They are not so polished round like riverbed pebbels of other sedimentary stones.

The varity goes from grey to dark brown to black color, are from the iron in the stone.

I find these on the mentioned ground, like this often in rural regions, an almost the wet seasons muddy road in the woods to field, constructed for vehicles to held better grip, not to sinking in on the ground filled and littered with these sedimentary rocks and a lot of flint shards.

I looking around for the near round stones.

Often these rural roads are also washed out from rain showers, some heavier on autumn.

I only pick up these handfull little ones and if i find some fossils. Not the other purposed rocks for the road. Here we call them Wallstones or on the river Maas = Maaseier maaseggs stones.

The varity of flint in color and intact or broken stones are high. Nice finds from gray white + to red or black flint stones round like river pebbles or once are taken and formed from likely glacier drifts. Often here to find in sandy ground, on already on harvested open fields, near on it or stone pieles.

I enjoy tocollect them in egg size form or with half fragmented flint / chert with colors in it. They are the other finds if i can‘t find echinoids.

If take photos from now all the ovale round stones from the Wallsteine since 2022, of my finds then it will be propably the half area from the dining table be full of them. Without the half broken up of them. Two boxes, and mug full now collected. My cam is shit again under light.

I post them in bettween, with sorted to size, flint color, form etc. But its all only stones. 😅

My partners grandma snuck them a bag of rocks to gift to me, again (this happens often) (I love rocks)

Only issue is, despite my love, I cannot identify any. I have handfuls and handfuls of colorful polished rocks and stones and pebbles and name for none of them.

Polished in the form of an mineral egg

It’s has the shimmer and color iridescent when under light like an Lapradorite, or Larvkite but has not the dark part in or around it.

Have the other mineral name or sub-mineral forgotten which i was first thinking when i brought it from the stand seller. Suggestion are allowed to near clarify it perhaps.

If I can’t find any fossils for this week + than I likely will purchase some small to recognize, well known fossils as an set from an cool little shop on Etsy. Or some pretty stones…….

Or i sorting some unposted fossils here in the kartons 📦 from my collection for pics.

The harvest season of all kinds of vegetables will starting now from September onwards, many places and road with some tracks will be full of harvest vehicles, will not bothered any near the fields, and I can not calm visit the fields, I will let them doing their work and go after the harvest, with some first raining than on the places for looking of rocks.

i want to start rock collecting again, any collectors on here have tips about ethically sourced stones, where to get quality stones, common beginners mistakes, etc? my collecting isn’t occult/witch related i assume a lot of witchblr knows about this stuff so any advice would be great!!
