If I may be so bold as to inquire sir, may I ask if there has ever been an instance of a Thunderwing in the Malgus cluster? Given the Matrix seeking nature of his Primax and Unined Counterparts, I am curious as to what he gets up to in a cluster that, until now, has lacked any sort of Matrix like Macguffin

It may not surprise you to learn that Thunderwing was originally Blitzwing's brother, a fellow member of the body-type that the Autobots codenamed "Shrikebat." He knew of the anger his brother hid beneath his cold expression, and so was one of the few not surprised when Blitzwing started venting his behaviour after Blackarachnia's experiments, nor was he fooled by Blitzwing's attempts to hide it under various personas.

Still, the fusion of Autobot and alien CNA with his brother sickened Thunderwing, and when Blackarachnia was not punished, but in fact rewarded for the experimentation, he abandoned his faction and fled into the depths of space.

He spent his time pillaging organic systems, in search of something unknown, and the last I heard of him, he'd reached the far side of the Stone Place, where he believed the object of his quest would be located.
