Where do high femme find stone butches/studs/other femmes (whether it is for dating or just building community)? It's like the hardest game of Where's Waldo? I honestly don't know what to do... I try to follow as many black and brown femmes who are also high femmes or similar to my other identities but it's led to nothing. Being alone has never been a problem for me but when I want to talk to someone about this there is no one I can turn to about my feelings about this but myself and lesbian books. If y'all have any advice please let me know.

A stone is common term in the lesbian community but not exclusive. It is a boundary for that individual on a spectrum on how little they may give/receive. For example, some stone tops do not want their own erogenous zones touched and only want to touch their partner. Some stone bottoms do not want to touch their partner and only want to receive. It's just whatever they're comfiest with.

And I must stress that this is a boundary accepted and consented to by BOTH parties involved. Stones are not abusive for their boundaries. Stone bottoms especially get flack for "doing nothing in bed" and/or "taking advantage of their top".

My butch is a lovely stone bottom butch I love very very much. While I may be a switch myself I'm very satisfied in our relationship and dynamics. We have our compromises and boundaries made clear. (If you're the crowd that think stones are abusive, am I abusive for never wanting a partner with facial hair? Especially to touch my face or stomach with their facial hair? It's rooted in trauma for me. What makes stones different?)
