M is for Monkey . This ring is a recent purchase. There was a range of animals available, and when I saw this little guy I knew I had to have him! . Fun fact: I've always loved primates, and for the majority of my life I wanted to be a primatologist. For some reason I changed my mind just before my final school exams and decided that I wanted to be a film director instead, but then at uni that changed again and voila: archaeology! . I am always amazed at the similarities between humans and monkeys - hardly surprising considering our evolution. One of the reasons I first got into archaeology was related to this. Specifically, the question of how we had become human. What was it that seperated us out to become the "dominant species" that we are today? There are many official theories: art, fire, speech to name a few. I already talked about my theory related to our imagination. But I'm curious - what do you guys think? . #monkey #monkeys #primates #evolution #stoneagemonkey #human #whatmakesushuman https://www.instagram.com/p/B6IqrL7nX2r/?igshid=uneqqvbm6ep6
