Merry Christmas, I'm still drawing cosmere OC art. Here's a Batav edit I made and never finished of a propaganda poster.
Started reading the stonewalkers campaign and god I hate Roshar. Angstspren??? Teenage years must suck here.
A neat little character I made for the stonewalkers game my friend is hosting, here's the rough backstory
Malenavala Marnar was born in 1152 darkeyed to both lighteyed and darkeyed parents.
Her father Meritir Marnar is a Fifth Dahn who owns several properties and companies in the coastal Alethi city of Dumadari. He currently sits on Dumadari's financial council with ten or so other pro five Dahns advising the Bethab princedom on Dumadari's market, namely Mishinah Bethab.
Marnar Enterprise: - Trawling - Netting - Shipping - Storage
Her mother Jasannav was a Third Nahn who worked for Meritir's trawling business as a captain and engineer on one of his boats. She also worked with her fleet manager, Tordan Heldeas, and Thalen City's docks to manage trade relations and boat maintenance with Thaylenah.
Malen's existence was struck from any official record and she was raised predominately by her mother, who taught her parts of her trade as well as how to read and write. When the two would make visits to Malen's father he would teach her politics and trade, resulting in her deep understanding of Jah Keved. Vorinism naturally came with both of her parent's teachings. As Jasannav became more and more frequent to her visits with Meritir, Tordan became both suspicious and jealous of their relationship, and when Malen was eleven, she watched as her mother was killed by pirates. She later found out that these pirates were paid by Tordan to rob their ship and kill the officers.
After her mother died, Malen's hair was cut short and she was given board in her father's house as a serving boy to hide her identity. As she grew older, they grew closer behind closed doors. She requested to be trained as a grounds guard to her father when she was fourteen to maintain that closeness, and after two years of quiet pleading her wish was granted. Despite being as close to her father as she possibly could be without severely breaking taboo, Malen was very unhappy with her arrangement. Still, she bitterly worked her way up the short ranks of her fathers guard, leading the ground patrol, and eventually advising the head of the security force at age 20.
Early into her career as a guard for her father (1168), Dalinar took his army through Dumadari to reach the Shattered Plains. Recognizing this as a chance to earn a higher station through valor, Malen begged her father to be sent with the Bethab princedom's armies to fight in the war of reconning, but he refused. Over the years she slowly wore him down, and as the prospect of profit rose, so did Meritir's willingness to finally accept. Finally in 1172 her father relents and Malen is allowed to enlist with his name as Malen Marnar. It takes until 1173 for her to actually leave Dumadari, where she finds herself in the Kholin princedom, helping guide a supply caravan led by a woman named Ralanat.
So I might be getting into Stormlight just a little
This is my Knight Radiant and Stormlight Archive oc/ttrpg character; Ilmari Dyril!
He's a noble from Iri (whose main residents are actually not originally from the planet that stormlight archive takes place, they're a travelling people who go to different planets to get new experiences and their religion believes that once their journey is complete they will reunite as One and so their culture is very much about making new experiences and innovating and stuff). Ilmari is the youngest of three children with a bit of an age gap between him and his closest sibling.
His sister is a pretty accomplished member of the military and his brother is going more into politics, this left Ilmari with nothing he really needed to *do* as a noble. After having some schooling in politics and stuff he found it too stuffy and decided to enter the military. He enjoyed this much more because he felt like it was more immediately applicable and after training he and his squad went around the country protecting villages and stuff.
However, eventually his squad got called to go help invade Rira (neighboring country). Ilmari did not want to fight people just living their life. So he lied to his superiors and said he felt "the call" to go out and experience stuff. After talking with the religious folks around they dismissed him and he's gone on a walking journey across the continent (for the past 5 years) trying to learn more swordplay along the way.
Since then Ilmari has met Kesrin, a member of the listener people, learned about slavery and hates it (but is scared of reprocutions to do something about it) and joined a party that's helping the stone shaman Taszo-son-clutio. He's gained the attention of a Lightspren and is close to speaking The Words. He's just started his journey and has much to learn about true freedom.

I am having the best time of my damn life with the Stormlight TTRPG rn. Got 4 players, 3 of which have started to make characters, and I'm deeply obsessed with their choices and the ways I can bind them into the World at large.
We will be playing the stonewalker campaign, with some changes due to the character building adding to the World, and it's gonna be so freaking fun.
One of the players follows me here so not gonna go in depth about different character secrets, but I am foaming at the mouth at the ideas I have to explore their characters and the World with it.
None of my players know the Cosmere at all, beyond what I told them, and that just means I get to describe the menace of a figher in Shardblade and Plate, or the stories that can be told with an oathstone, or someone's friend becoming a Regal.
And my players will just have to grapple with it >:)
If anyone our there wants to hear more and isn't my Player, hit me up, I need to ramble about some of the insane shit that's already come up when prepping
So I've been running the Stonewalkers module of the Cosmere ttrpg for some friends and it's been a blast. So much so that I'm coming up with ideas to extend the campaign past Stonewalkers until we get our Mistborn books. All following information will be kept as spoiler-free as possible for said Stonewalkers module.
Current plan is to have a small Ghostblood group take interest in making some "acquisitions" of things the party gained during Stonewalkers.
We have;
Fillo: 34, Hazekiller, Uninvested, the brains of the group.
Ludwis: 38, Thug, second in command.
Cerilon: 25 Steel Compounder, the 'face' of the operation.
Loalee: 19, Malwish, Leecher, Hazekiller. Crowd control. She's more like Alek with how she uses her mask, not one to let it be part of her face.
Kiwi: Kakapo, Uninvested. Loalee won't travel without her.
Scadrians only because we've got some official rules already for them so combat ought be easy to emulate.
Has anyone played the Stonewalkers campaign in the Cosmere RPG? I think I want to buy it and I'd love to be hear some opinions
What if the Shin taboo against walking on stone came from the original plan for the humans to stay in Shinovar. It's forbidden to walk on stone because leaving Shinovar is forbidden and the easiest way to define the border is the stone.
