Fuck my cute anime girl life
Fun fact: Plagiarism is NOT cute, it’s not fun, it doesn’t make you cool, it’s not something to be taken lightly. This is someone's work, and if you liked it, great! Leave a comment, reblog, like. Enjoying someone else’s work does NOT give you the right to steal it. Copy and pasting, changing or deleting words does NOT make you the creator, artist, writer, or owner. Wake up, grow up. I promise putting effort into something original will feel better!
The fanfiction writers who create wonderful stories and put lots of work and dedication so they can share them with us and we can enjoy them as well:
The people who steal their work and repost them on Wattpad:
I was scrolling way back from the time I started Tumblr. I saw a post that I reblogged about one blog that stole others' content. I remembered they talked to the person, only to get blocked. I just block them but I was curious to see if that person still is there, they are. Their posts look similar to yours but I can't be right, it might look like others. If it doesn't, I take my mistakes and accusations wrong. I apologise.
Here others with proofs

omg!! i’ve had some people telling me that, that account has been copying me and my style of making posts, even copying tweets from my twitter! it’s wrong and to see that they’ve been doing this for years to many people is so ridiculous, they just keep finding accounts to copy off of and it’s not right. those are other people’s words and thoughts and stealing them and acting as if they are your own just for some likes and reblogs is just wrong ! i hope if anyone of you come across that account and you see stolen content, you won’t support them.
thank you for letting me know, i appreciate it <3
ya’ll.
I’m just gonna say this and then leave it at that.
don’t plagiarize.
it’s not fair to put someone else in the place to call you out for blatantly stealing their ideas or stories. especially if you plan on attempting to make money off of something that was offered to you FOR FREE.
it’s not fair to guilt trip someone about “all the hard work” you put into it when in reality, the hard work was done for you.
the story was created, the characters, the plot, everything was laid out for you and all you had to do was spit out a regurgitated version of the same story, slap your name on it and call it your own.
it’s not fair.
it is not fair.
(I’m not talking about writers who use the same trope, or the same AU, or the same names for kids.)
Ummm hi psa PLEASE give people credit for their images. It’s literally so easy. Stop stealing and plagiarizing people’s art and photos and put in the very minimal effort to include the name of the artist that the work belongs to in the caption. It’s not hard, it takes two seconds, and it’s just common and basic decency. If you’re going to use somebody’s work in any way, you need to acknowledge them and give them full credit for whatever images you are using.
How to find out if your story has been stolen:
Copy a paragraph from your work. Make it something relatively unique to the story. Three or more lines is best.
Paste it into Google and hit search. You can also add site:tumblr or site:wattpad for example on the end to search for specific locations.
Anywhere that exact "code" statement is uploaded will show up as a search result.
I also HIGHLY encourage authors to do a weekly or monthly browse of Wattpad, especially looking at works titled "One-Shots, Imagines, Collections," ect. Users often group the stolen works as individual chapters, which makes them hard to find.
I also very much recommend that everyone sends Wattpad a feedback report (you do not need an account, just make up a username when it asks) and report that you'd like Wattpad to adjust their DMCA and plagiarism process so that anyone can file a report providing sufficient evidence. OR that you don't need an account to file a report, only sufficient evidence.
It's happening across Teen Wolf, BTS, Good Omens, Supernatural and every other fandom right now. Over 2million words worth of fic was reported this week so far.
Thank you so much for this information!!
Unfortunately this plagiarizing fanfiction stuff keeps happening across various platforms but mostly authors from tumblr or ao3 getting their work posted on wattpad without permission and I can’t believe people still do that in 2021.
Reblog to spread the word!
Hi! I was just curious about plagiarism, um, I wanted to start writting stories on tumblr and also have some drafts saved, but seeing how people can be so disrespectful towards someone who is dedicated towards their writing, would I regret posting here?
Hello!
Finding out that one of my fics was plagiarized and that the person never apologized and is still posting other people's works had made me want to stop posting. The thing is, writing is an escape for me. I believe it's the same for others, and it's a shame that people can be so disrespectful and steal stories you've worked so hard to put out there.
Many of my fics contain some elements of my life—things I've gone through/experienced. No matter how hard we try to protect our work, there will always be someone who doesn't care and will steal/plagiarize someone else's work. For the first time since it happened to me, I posted a story last night, and it felt okay to do it.
I always keep records of everything I write, including dates. Everything on my page is mine, and I can prove it. They can't say the same, which makes me feel better.
I'm afraid I can't give you an answer about whether or not you’ll regret posting on this site. But I can say that I have no regrets about posting here. I enjoy sharing my stories and interacting with my readers and fellow writers. I've made some friends this way, which is one of the main reasons I don't regret it.
I’ve been feeling a bit unmotivated, but eventually I’ll feel better and post more because:
1. i’ve got stories to finish and I don’t want to let my readers down.
2. also, fu*k plagiarizers 🤷🏻♀️♥️
