you know what annoys me the most about being a writer? and writing everything in a virtual public place like tumblr?
plagiarism.
and y'know what piss me off the most about it? it's not the first time, probably won't be the last either.
today, through a person that i don't feel entitled to expose the @ 'cause i really don't know if they want to be exposed this way, it came to my attention that this person (of the following account) on wattpad - as usual - has been plagiarizing some of my works, especially from the tokyo revengers fandom.
and, in case the person comes to see this post because they probably follow me, i wanted to make it clear that: it's plagiarism from the moment you CLAIM A WORK THAT IS NOT YOURS AS YOURS. and that's exactly what you did.
you didn't ask for permission, you DID NOT EVEN SEND A FUCKING ASK.
and y'know what pisses me off the most? is the fact that I have FUCKING EVIDENED IN MY FUCKING PINNED that i don't want anyone reposting or copying what i write on 'cause, goddamn it, all the works you reposted on wattpad took me over FUCKING THREE HOURS TO FINISH.
Copying Stories from Other Author as if they are your own work.
From writer to writer, I get it. Sometimes, in that spur of moment, you might stumble upon an idea for your fanfic or book, or article, whatever it is, and start to write the sentences, based from books or movies, or music that you saw or heard. And after that, the idea will be pretty ambiguous, which two or more stories might have the same plot.
But, if you write it yourself, they won't show as imitation, right? You use your own words, at least.
Too many movies or books out there have similar plots or storyline one another.
But .... if two stories from different authors looked the same word for word, can you call it plagiarism?
Apparently this so called 'writer' doesn't think like that.
On photos, she copied story from @taequois (the Devil's Patience) which the wording are exactly the same. Readers from yandere community will probably recognize this story right away. They are one of my fav writer and story. (She deactivates, sadly).
And as you can see, this user doesn't think it's plagiarism even with blatant same wording. The user only change one of the cameo into 'Sehun'.
She thinks that by putting the 'NOT MY STORIES' is enough credit to the authors.
A lot of stories from tumblr being copied or reposted into Wattpad without author's permission, because in here you can copy paragraph, unlike Wattpad that disable the 'copy' feature. And I'm pretty sure, this kind of copycat are not the only one and won't be the last.
This kind of plagiarists infuriate me.
I hope karma will bite them in their ass.

I decided to remove the screen shot of stories she copied, because it seems to promote her page even more.
There seems to have been a recent onslaught of plagiarism within fandom, and we would like to address this.
lauren3210’s brilliant fic, Tie Me Up in Knots was recently plagiarized on AO3. We will not identify the person who plagiarized Lauren’s stunning work, nor will we link the fic in question. It is our belief that by doing so we would only be fueling the fire.
Nevertheless, we urge all of those in fandom to be aware of what they are reading. Fandom is supposed to be a safe place. We should not fear that our work be plagiarized or reposted—writers, artists, and all creators. We create out of our own love. To plagiarize, repost, or claim something as your own when it is not is a sure fire way to kill fandom as a whole.
Give credit and kudos where it is due.
Give respect where it is due.
Whether or not you, as a participant of the Drarry Community, are aware of what has recently happened, please go and give some love and a huge BOOST to this brilliant, original work:

— PLAGIARISM
for the past few days, i haven’t been very very active because of work but also because i’ve been dealing with a plagiarism issue. at first, i was informed that “break up with your boyfriend” was posted without my consent on wattpad but i couldn’t find the fic, and i deduced that the person deleted it after being confronted about it. however, monday morning, i woke up to the news that the fic was now posted on instagram under 3 different posts by the same person. to say that i was shocked is a literal understatement. of course, i contacted them, and after waiting a long time, they deleted everything. in the end, everything seems to have a good ending (at least for the moment).
this story ends well in my case, but sometimes it isn’t the case which i already face in the past. so please to all people tempted to ever do something like that, just don’t because one way or another, the original writer will find out about it, and it can go wrong for you. plus, for the writer, it’s very frustrating, and to some extent hard to deal with because they spent hours working on something & to see it just posted somewhere else without ever seeing their username mentioned anywhere is heartbreaking.
please to all my fellow fanfic writers be careful & stay all safe 💗 to everyone dealing with this kind of situation, i hope you find the support to help you deal with this!
also a massive thank you to the person who informed me about this situation & to my nikki @xpeachesncream for her support 💗
There is a Clexa fic that has been reposted on AO3 that is a copy paste version of Judith McNaught's Paradise. It's really concerning reading all the comments from people who are defending it, saying it's an 'adaptation' when it's literally straight up plagiarism. Some of the comments are even quite aggressive in defending the theft.
Considering we have so many issues with Clexa stories being stolen and posted on Wattpad it's pretty annoying some people are okay with plagiarising published novels.
Plagiarism is not okay. Do not steal other people's work.
I can't believe this really needs to be said, but here we are.
i really haven’t been in the mood to write/post anything since i found out one of my fics was plagiarized. that person is still posting without a care in the world, and it makes me angry because nothing can be done even when i’ve been constantly reporting
