Why can’t people just enjoy a show anymore? Especially if it’s a kids show, they sexualize the living fuck out of it and claim it’s because they are raising awareness. Then if you tell them to just enjoy the show and stop reaching they get pissed. Like they have this whole crap now about Danny Phantom being transgender.
You know what that show is about? A teenager being a rebellious asshole who had to deal with the consequences of his actions after not listening to his parents. Yes be curious, but be knowledgeable in your curiosity.
Star Trek is about pushing the limits, doing more with your life and respecting other people regardless of whether or not you agree with their lifestyle, life choices, physical appearance or culture. Enjoy their culture. Don’t appropriate it.
Avengers is about people who didn’t really care for each other but came together for the greater good. They put their differences aside to save the world. Friendships come from the most unlikely of places. Just because you have a difference of opinion doesn’t mean you can’t still be amazing friends.
The writers/creators of these shows, comics, movies or whatever else knew where they wanted to go, what they wanted to say and exactly what they meant when they did something. And a lot of them are open to your suggestions or comments or wishes for a character that could represent something that you feel is under represented. Sometimes if you just relax yourself one could pop up to your delight.
Stop reaching and reading way too much into things. I haven’t reblogged anything on Star Trek or Steven Universe for months because you guys just ruin it for so many. You aren’t really doing anyone any favors.
Honestly, this is the reason why a lot of people don’t care for fandoms.
