Aces and Aros are valid human beings just like you and me

Bisexuals in same-sex relationships are not "pretending to be gay"

Bisexuals in heterosexual relationships are not "pretending to be straight"

Intersex people exist, and do so in many forms

You do not have to choose a gender

Neopronouns are delightful, creative and perfectly acceptable

TERFS can fuck right off

Transphobes and homophobes can eat a bag of sweaty dicks

HRT is life-saving treatment

Transitioning saves lives

Feminists do not hate men, we hate the society created by and for the patriarchy which hurts everyone

MAPS are not welcome in the LGBTQIA+ community

And while I'm here...

Childfree people are not selfish, immature or irresponsible.

Sex workers deserve safety, respect, and the right to tap out at any time, for any reason, without fear of prosecution or harassment.

Abortion is healthcare.

Really funny how not even during asexual visibility week we can't have shit. That character that is canonically asexual in media? Nope, he's allo now! That character that you, aro/ace/aroace person relate so much that you cannot help but hcing them as ace/aro/aroace? Nope, that character is allo and you are a bigot who lacks media literacy! That you see some characters vibing more in a qpr? Nope, qprs aren't "real" only friendships and amatonormative relationships are valid!

And while I have accepted defeat with many fandoms like the funny lawyer one for example, that in more niche and smaller fandoms like the emblem of flames srpg one me and many other aspecs have to face aphobia on the daily is exhausting. Doesn't matter how many years have passed, Tumblr will always have an aphobia problem.

Hc what you want and ship what you will, but your hcs aren't what's canon and you cannot impose your views onto others. Aspec/arospec hcs are valid and also contribute to the representation of the queer community. Not everything revolves around romantic relationships, friendships and sex.

I missed most Ace week it looks like. Since it’s the last day, I’ll try to make this brief.

Aces/Acepecs of any flavor belong in the LGBT+ community. The A in LGBTQIA stands for Aspec after all.

Fellow Aces, please be kind to each other. I have seen so much discourse and gatekeeping within our community for years, and it is very disheartening, especially as someone with a very complicated identity.

Also, I hope everyone had a good Ace Week this year.

Right on time, it’s Saturday! Here’s my promised “more personal” post.

Based very loosely on an actual Pride shirt I own, I drew this up the day before I went to the closest Pride Parade in my area. It was pretty good to see, slowly but surely, more Ace flags appear within the parade, whether as flags to wear as capes like me or as face paint. My only caveat was that last year, the parade had an Ace flag up alongside the masts that were carried through, but not this year. Disappointing to be honest.

But still, this year’s Pride parade was a fun time and one of the more memorable ones since I began going to Pride Parades.

I hope that one day Ace representation, both in Pride Parades and in media in general, becomes more mainstream.

We do exist, we have always existed and we are valid.

To any aces out there, whether you are just Ace, AroAce, or the ever elusive but always awesome triple A threat (Agender AroAce), you are valid!

Whether you seek romance or don’t, enjoy sex or are repulsed by it, or simply float on the Ace/Aro spectrum(s) back and forth, you are valid!

And I am goddamn proud of you for existing.

Keep up the good work of being yourself.
