#sharktober Day 8 - Scoophead. They are a little-known species of smaller hammerhead shark that inhabit tropical waters, where it can be found in shallow, inshore habitats. They coexist with another two species of small hammerheads and are viviparous. The scoophead is caught commercially and sold as fresh fish or turned into fishmeal. They have been declared as Critically Endangered by the IUCN.

TODAY IS MY DAY! 🦈 HAPPY SHARK WEEK ( #shaqweek) Y’ALL 🦈 People ask me why I love sharks and shark week so here it is for those of you I haven’t gone on an impassioned in person rant about it... 😅 • First odd, they are glorious apex predators who stand the test of time • They have a horrible reputation for being man eaters which they are not. Some species are more aggressive but it’s not the ones you think. (More so this is a lesson for people o respect this animals environment) • our oceans would be a gross over abundant cesspool of dead fish etc. they help keep it clean! • shark week isn’t just some cool jumping sharks although it’s super rad, it also showcases new advances with science/ conservation and even cinematography. • this year is hosted by @shaq need I say more!? • thanx for reading! watch and you might just learn some shit. #sharktober 🦈 Day 3 - Blue Shark. Blue sharks can be found worldwide in temperate and tropical seas. Although they are generally lethargic, they can move very quickly. The top of their body is a beautiful deep blue. They are a viviparous species of sharks and they 'give birth' to large litters of 25 to over 100 pups! Blue sharks have been declared as a near threatened species by the IUCN.

#sharktober 🦈 Day 5 - Pondicherry Shark. The Pondicherry shark is such an extremely rare shark that it had been believed to be extinct in 1970, until they began to be found at markets in the 2010s. Only about 20 specimens are available for study (collected before 1900) and only 2 photographs of this species exist. They are classified as Critically Endangered by the IUCN.

** as a side note, i did my best to find these photographs, but i've only found pics of dead ones, so the accuracy of this drawing is debatable**
