Guys... I did a thing... for years I have been trying to find a way to volunteer with conservation and I have Charlie to thank for introducing me to this organization. I just filled out an application to volunteer. Guys... I’m so stoked to see what they will say.. I hope for good news. I hope I’m able to do this. This is a dream of mine!

Video by @Jim_Abernethy // The affectionate side of sharks is something that the world doesn't believe possible, yet I teach my guests how to do this on every single trip and have success daily! Here you see me rubbing the lemon shark affectionately, the same that anyone would do with their dog! Although many of the lemon sharks have never had this before, they are definitely sentient creatures like dogs and come back to their new human friends repeatedly to get more shark love...affection! I use this new trusting relationship to get close enough to remove their hooks, which I started in 2002 and have removed 100's of hooks so far. I wish the 99% of the human population on planet Earth could actually see this, to dispel the most misunderstood creature on the planet...sharks, so please tag your friends and share this! As Jacques Cousteau said "We only protect what we love! " I love sharks! Do you love sharks? They are quite simply not mindless man eating monsters that they are so often projected as! Hope to see you with GWS's soon! “While most of the world is consumed by the fear of being eaten by a shark, the truth is that sharks don't really eat people...the truth is, it is MAN eating sharks needlessly into extinction! The truth is in the statistics! Humans go in the water 8 billion times a year and from that 85 people are mistakenly bitten by a shark and less that 5 on average die from these mistakes...that are most commonly referred to as shark attacks. If even 1 of over 500 species of sharks preyed on man, we would not be able to swim in the ocean at all! Here is a comparison of some of the more dangerous animals in the US, of course saving the best for last! Dogs bite someone every 40 seconds resulting in 4 to 5 million bites and 16 to 20 deaths yearly. Cows kill 20 people yearly. Deer kill an average of 135 people yearly. 1600 people are attacked and bitten every single year in the state of New York by People! Humans are responsible for killing between 73 million to 250 million sharks every year mostly for just their fins! Let's end this needless slaughter and save our friends in the sea!
