Reposted from @abc4explore @withregram • Happy Shark Week from Iceland… 🇮🇸🔥🥶🦈🥶🔥🇮🇸 Let’s make every week “Shark Week” & stop decimating the world’s greatest predators, they are here to help us & they deserve our respect & protection… #stopkillingsharks #abc4explore https://www.instagram.com/p/CRcasJ-BSkb/?utm_medium=tumblr
I don’t like to post this kind of pics about the 👑 of the oceans 🌊 but we can’t cover the sad truth, the other side of the coin...This is so hurtful... Posted @withregram • @abc4explore ⚠️☠️‼️SHARK ATTACK‼️☠️⚠️ Did you know that Great White Sharks are exponentially & continually demonized as indiscriminate killing machines, yet in reality they simply kill to survive? Humans on the other hand, literally get away with murder on a regular basis & kill out of malice, sport, profit, photos & in this case all of the above. This Great White Shark was caught years ago inside an Australian tuna pen, yet instead of releasing it alive, these guys claimed their absolute only option was to kill it, drag it on board, take photos & then cut its head off as a trophy. Was this really their only option? Although Great White Sharks are an internationally protected species & serve as the Guardians of our Oceans, clearly they are not actually protected or respected by humans like this. So, you be the judge, and you tell me, who are the real Monsters of the Deep? When will we stop killing the true Protectors of our Planet? Please Speak Up & Fight For Sharks...‼️☠️🦈🤬‼️#HumansAreTheRealMonsters #StopKillingSharks (Google the story if you think killing this animal was their only option) #DontBeAClasper #BeAGoodHuman #SaveSharks #GreatWhiteSharks https://www.instagram.com/p/CBZIzRehYQk/?igshid=1c1u5mf4ly3ks
@sharkconservation_australia Approximately 73 million sharks are killed for the shark fin trade, every single year. On average sharks kill 11 human beings each year. Humans are much more dangerous than sharks. _ Meet @mikecoots a shark bite survivor, and listen to his story and perception of sharks. _ Don’t know about the shark fin trade? Let us know below and we will start posting more about it! Yes, shark fin soup is completely legal here in Australia, and we import and export tonnes of shark fin every year. 🙅🏽♀️🙅🏼♂️ #stopkillingsharks #nofinsnofuture #ocean #respecttheoceananditscreatures #sharksareamazing #sharks https://www.instagram.com/p/BtWqmzWIOzy/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=19ibpxmy405b8
Great photo and information from @hannah_gabrielson on one of our more commonly-sighted shark species, sandbar sharks 😍🦈💙 ・・・ Found in all oceans of the world, sandbar sharks are most common in deep coastal waters. This species has been documented in intertidal areas down to about 900 feet in depth. The sandbar shark is light gray or tan in coloration with white on its ventral side. Lacking distinct markings, its tall dorsal fin is a distinguishing characteristic. The maximum length recorded for a sandbar in Hawai‘i is 6.4 feet; while the average length is 5 feet. With a varying diet, sandbar sharks are opportunistic bottom-feeders, eating bony fish, cephalopods, crustaceans, other sharks, and rays. Pupping season is July to September with a litter size ranging from one to eight pups. Gestation period lasts 11-12 months and birth size averages 25 inches for sandbar sharks. #sharks #sandbarshark #switchtocheddarbroccoli #stopkillingsharks #saynotosharkfinsoup #stopfinning #stopculling #savesharks #sharks #sharklivesmatter #itstheirocean #hawaii #hawaiisharks #simplysharks #discoversharks #sharkconcervation #oceanconcervation #ikelite #nikon #discoverocean #madeofocean (at Oneoceandiving.com) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsZN6zLhGj-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=tneft1ghbkoy

#Repost @abc4explore with @get_repost ・・・ Just one more JAWS poster parody, I promise I won’t post anymore of these! But humankind is by far the deadliest predator on the planet & if you can’t understand that concept, then simple mathematics will show you that HUMANS kill more SHARKS worldwide in 1 hour than all fatal shark attacks on humans combined worldwide since the beginning of time... #StopKillingSharks #EatSourPatchKidsInstead #abc4explore - artist unknown
Mahalo to @lucyaragon for coming out to dive with us! We are always so stoked to teach everyone on our tours about how important sharks are to our ecosystem and what we can all do to help #SaveTheSharks 🦈💙🤙🏽 _________________________ #Repost @lucyaragon ・・・ Jaws is fake news. 🦈 Sharks are gentle creatures and they have been around for over 400 million years.
