Five Jersey City residential housing complexes will get a special cleanup when volunteers of the city's litter patrol program visit their neighborhood this month.
During the hot summer months, Jersey City implemented a campaign that will keep young kids off the streets and help the city clean its communities. Mayor Steven Fulop created this amazing campaign called “Stop The Drop” supported by the Department of Recreation, which will employ 180 people between the ages of 16 and 21 this summer, the third year of the program.
The goal of this initiative is to make up of 10 to 12 teens who are tasked with clearing litter and debris from residential streets. An additional supervisor has been added to each Ward team this year for additional support. If you have any questions or how to apply, summer applications will be available on the city’s pages around March of 2021.
