handed in my final uni project, unfortunately was a bit rushed to hand in and forgot to get nice photos. there is a video 'tour' that focuses on some of the details that i will post later but for now i shall let my aching hands rest. inspired by Ian McQue's wonderful boat concepts, cyberpunk, janky old tugs and a bit of pod racers for good measure.

Mouth set!! Nearly completed!

Yes, this was made with cardboard, foam core, newspaper and painted with acrylics.

I'm thinking about adding a glaze to make it look wet....🤔😛

it's really big! The troll puppet is rather small next to it too. I really wanted this second set to feel like a big, strange environment.

Animation test #1 

I used Vaseline and smeared it onto my plastic shield with every frame. It looks like water, but the problem is that it’s way too thick and we can’t see anything.

Even with a thinner layer, it gave the same results

These are some of my first lighting tests for my mouth set (i’m not great at lighting but i am trying my best haha) I really wanted the light in this set to make sense. A mouth would technically be dark when closed (as designed for my set), but for the sake of my film, there needed to be some form of light.

Also, I want the set to be dark, but I don’t want to character to appear sinister or scary. I also want him to stand out from the set and not to appear flat against the background.
