The US is like one giant chord. The different cultures that exist in the US act as the notes that make up the chord in this scenario. All of the different cultures can and should exist in perfect harmony within this country. None of the cultures should ever lose their identity in the mix of the other cultures. In the same way, if a note were to be doubled in a chord, in some cases, the chord would feel hollow and incomplete. Especially when the intent was for the chord to be heard in its entirety. The US is intended to be a melting pot of different cultures and people. Therefore, each of the cultures kept alive by the diversity in the people who live in this country have to maintain their identities in spite of the pressure to conform to the majority in this country.
