#Repost @meademule with @repostsaveapp ・・・ Knob Creek Rye store picks are one of the better values in rye whiskey available right now. They’re usually good, sometimes very good, and priced reasonably. This particular store pick, “Catcher in the Rye”, is one I helped pick and falls into the “very good” category, IMHO. Big and bold with lots of fresh mint and menthol, balanced by a terrific caramel and butterscotch note on the palate, with a thick and creamy texture and a long minty finish. Quite good indeed. I liked it enough to buy the whole (emptied) barrel, which is now sitting on my front porch 😄. It’s been a bit longer than normal between review posts, but I’m back with a review of the Knob Creek Single Barrel store picks I helped select with @elixirspirits. The bottle pictured here is named Double Booked and, IMHO, is just about the best single barrel of Knob Creek I’ve tried. Rich with a big and wonderfully viscous mouthfeel. Oaky and a bit astringent as you’d expect from a 14 year old bourbon, but not overly so. Creamy vanilla candy, like vanilla Tootsy Rolls or taffy. Creme brûlée. Silky smooth caramel. Dark chocolate brownies. Cherry cordial. The chocolate notes especially stand out to me. Delicious.
