OK so like . i actually subscribe to this one . don't get me wrong i do think nod struggles with things ( like the loss of his father ) , but i don't really think he's the kind of guy who internalizes his trauma . he CAN dream , but he's not a " wake up in a cold sweat " kind of guy . i genuinely think that so much of the trauma he's experienced is just . part of his life and the culture of those around him so it just Doesn't Bug Him ( pun intented ) . so yeah long story short when people wake up from bad dreams and are like " yeah just one of those nightmares " he's like " MHMM ... HAHA I SURE DO GET THOSE ... "

Aside from the failed social interaction, he is more nervous than is usual for him. The sinister red lights, giving their own glow in a dim room - it reminded him all too much of the ambience commonly associated with Aperture. But he tries not to think about it! It wasn't that big of a deal.
