The beads I ordered to aid in my storm calling arrived to my local post office, and on the same wind that blew them in, a rattling storm came into the valley. What my spirits lack in ambiguity, they make up for in their directness.

Do you know how to call rain?
I do and there’s actually many ways to do it.
My favourite method (and the one I’ve had the most success with) goes like this: go to a body of water or gather some water into a bowl and then stand outside. Ask the spirit of the water for permission for you to borrow some of their energy and then pull the energy into your body. Next, face West and then blow the energy out into the sky. When I first did this, we had thunderstorms for a week straight.
Another method is to fill a bowl with water, sit outside with it, and then dip your index finger into the water while slowly circling it clockwise five times. As you do this, either whistle lowly or blow continuously over the mouth of the bowl while visualizing the water rising into the sky.
Then we have some traditional methods such as:
Flinging sand into the air
Casting flint stones behind your back towards the West
Striking a river with a broom
By burning fern or “rain-bringing” incense outside
Through dancing and playing instruments for the sky
Here is another of my DIYs for you all! This is a little more difficult than the others, but useful and cool nonetheless! It is a pocket fan (though mine is about the size of an oldish iPad, height wise, not so much a pocket), and can be enchanted for a variety of things! I have this one here for cooling breezes to flow my way in the Spring/Summer heat that comes around in my area. I used colours that remind me of water and lush greenery, something I associate with breezes and pretty weather. The fact that they are “cool” colours is an added bonus (*badum tssss*) Weather magic, specifically wind magic, is perfect for these kinds of fans. You can make one for storms (calling them could be fanning them one direction ex: back and forth, and banishing them could be side to side), one for gentle rains, one to bring clouds of shade or banishing them, etc. etc. There is also the fact that they can be closed into a very compact fold.
I found and based mine on a tutorial, so I recommend finding one that works for you! I also added some supports throughout to strengthen it!
⚡ Urbosa’s Fury Spell Jar ⚡
This spell jar is inspired by Urbosa from Breath of the Wild
⚡ this jar is going to help call a storm
⚡ ingredients: storm water from a previous storm (any kind will do if the intent is the same), mason jar with lid, pendant or finger, clear quartz (to amplify the effect)
⚡fill the mason jar almost full with the water
⚡now start to swing your pendant clockwise around the jar, or dip your finger in the water and do the same
⚡whistle as you do this, also asking the wind to bring a storm
⚡after you feel its done, place the quartz in the jar, seal it shut
⚡close your eyes and imagine Urbosa’s gifting you with her Fury ability
⚡snap your fingers and summon the storm!
⚡this spell jar is best done when there are already some clouds in the sky, as a clear day may not warrant for a storm
⚡remember: you are not creating the storm, just merely calling it towards you
It’s too sunny and warm outside, so I made my first attempt at storm calling. I hope the Earth grants me a little storm <3
I will enjoy a thunderstorm today
