Interior: Unknown (Sunday, October 15th, 3:00 P.M.)
Rayne is silent for awhile, not sure where she is or who's talking to her (even with how familiar the voice sounds). She, for some reason, feels a bit nervous. She isn't sure if it's because of how dark it is or...
"You're probably still feeling the effects of traveling here. You'll get used to it, after awhile," the familiar voice says.
"I do still feel a little strange, but...Wait a minute, how did you know..."
"What you were thinking?" the familiar voice asks. "As I've said before, I'm unable to answer that." The familiar voice pauses, then says, "In any case, I'm sure you'd prefer some light in here. All you have to do is turn it on."
Rayne sighs when she hears what the familiar voice says, about not being able to answer her question. She's curious what's around her, though, so she starts to...
'Wait! Why can't I move,' Rayne thinks, as realizes she can't go anywhere.
Rayne struggles for awhile, against whatever it is that is holding her in place (becoming more and more nervous and worried as she does), before she hears quick moving footsteps. A couple minutes later, she gasps as she feels something sharp in her right arm.
"There. That should help calm you," she hears the familiar voice say a minute or two later, as the pain in her arm goes away.
"What did...you do...to me?" Rayne asks, a few minutes later, as she starts to feel the effects of what she'd been given.
The familiar voice is silent for several more minutes, as if waiting for something, then says, "Now, Rayne. I need you to do something for me. I need you to imagine flipping the switch, in this room, and making the light appear."
"Why?" Rayne asks, quietly.
The familiar voice is silent, again, before it says (sounding a bit annoyed), "It's not my job to answer your questions. It is my job, however, to see if you're able to complete the task I gave you! Now, try and turn on the light!"
Rayne was silent for awhile, not sure what to say. At one point, though, she starts to think about how much she wants light in the room, and imagines herself turning on the light switch.
Suddenly, she notices the light turn on for a second or two, before it turns off (which surprises her).
"It's alright, Rayne. There's no need to worry. I'm sure you'll be able to keep the light on even longer next time," the familiar voice says. "For now, though, you need to rest."
