I looked back at what I posted yesterday and wow, in a few hours I claimed that Caine is Milton's Lucifer and Jax is Sandman's Dream... I am still the master at making the weirdest connections.
Why does everything make me think of TAD currently ?
Oh! I've learned that some kinds of bricks have color lots and variation, just like yarn. They come with instructions that are almost exactly the same as the "alternate skeins every row" kind of thing that you do in knitting or crochet.
Something is going on with the flashback sequences, and I think the Metatron must be involved. The whole second season is about memory. The angels have ways of controlling memories, at least to the extent of taking them away. I guess we don't really know whether memories can be distorted or selectively altered as well, but I think they can.
The historical flashbacks are memories. And they're full of disquieting oddness. In the 1941 church scene, the music and mood have changed. In all three of them, the things that happen seem to be putting Aziraphale and Crowley more at odds with each other, pushing them subtly farther apart.
That part is straightforward enough. But I also have a crack-y harebrained idea, based on one of the "wait and see" remarks Neil made in the lead-up to Season 2, about Crowley waking up in a Kafka story and Aziraphale being whisked away to the Land of Oz. The movie version of The Wizard of Oz is incredibly well-known. I'm sure Crowley has seen it. I don't know whether or not Aziraphale has, but I'm certain he has read the books.
In the movie, the Great and Powerful Oz manifests to Dorothy and her friends as an enormous floating head.
In the book, it's a bit more complicated. Oz is only willing to speak to one person at a time, and he appears differently to each person, so Dorothy and her friends have no idea what his real nature might be. Besides the giant head, he also appears as a ball of fire,
a lovely lady,
and a multi-limbed beast or monster.
They all seem very real, and very intimidating. We're supposed to pay no attention
to that man
behind the curtain.
tried to get my little brother to watch an episode of mlb.
he thought it was cringe and Did Not like it and said Chat Noir reminds him of me. which i would be flattered by but his reasoning was that he could imagine chat in every stupid situation in my past that we’ve experienced together.
i made a list so i didn’t forget because some could actually be funny comics, and i figured i might as well post it here in case anyone else wants an insight into my clown ass:
1. that one time i got lost in ikea and had to call my best friend to come rescue me (he drove all the way there, what a king)
2. i walk down the stairs in the dark and stumble constantly because i don’t pay attention and either prematurely think i’m at the floor or anticipate an extra step being there when it’s not
3. i love cats and now own 5, two of which are black. (very surface level, get more creative jack)
4. i often burn myself on hot food multiple times consecutively because i have no impulse control and maybe it’s cooled down enough to be eaten .5 seconds after it melts my tongue who knows i’ll try again
5. i tried putting my arms and legs in the sleeves of a sweatshirt to become that one Sweater Monster ((yknow that weird one from vine)) but the sweatshirt was too SMALL so i got stuck and had to yell for help
6. i regularly got sent to the hallway in middle school because i would make amazing puns during class that definitely didn’t warrent being punished because they were the best and i’m a comedic genius
7. i’m the opposite of everything our parents wanted me to be
8. i crave constant attention and/or validation by my peers (that one was too introspective and i didn’t like it)
9. i’m annoying and loud (back to surface level insults, thank you jack)
10. i’m probably a furry and secretly have more money than it seems
there are more but i got tired of typing and arguing with him at the same time. i’m currently ready to be executed via firing squad at any moment bye
