where instead of el being sent way the cali group escape from the military and are on the run and maybe will feels something is wrong so they go back to hawkins and with the power of friendship el and will get their powers
unironically think el shouldve had friends in season 4 in lenora and been happy because it makes the end of season 5 more hopeful she has made friendships outside of the people she knew in hawkins so the idea of her starting again and making more friends while still sad we can see shes had joy outside of them and will be able to do it again
