Daylight portrait research
Dappled light can create very interesting portrait lighting and when done right it can be a nice addition to a portrait. As the shadows and highlights are both very strong this can be tricky to expose for. Whilst in the west end I was able to find some dappled light falling on to a garage door luckily a stranger was walking past and I was able to capture their portrait.
The portrait on the right is lit very evenly. I can tell form the image it was a cloudy day and a reflector was probably used to brighten the subject up slightly a wide aperture was also used to make the most of the light. The is the technique I used for my other daylight portraits.
