A rare sight with flowers in bloom below one of the stratigraphic formations in Horseshoe Canyon. It gets extremely hot in the basin - thus the descriptive name - badlands. The striations and shapes of these unusual hills are caused by erosion and a composition of mudstone, sandstone, carbonaceous shale, and coal seams - highlighting the layers of the past. 😊 🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️🌺🌺🌺🌵🌵🌵#drumheller #badlands #horseshoecanyon #stratigraphic #striped #layers #alberta #exploring #explore #prairies #hiking #history #blastfromthepast #flowers #lilies #heat #canyon #canada
