Plastic straws take more than 200 years to break down.

Straws are one of the top 10 items found during beach clean-ups. They are also found lodged in the nostrils of sea turtles, and tangled in the stomachs of penguins.

If you can’t say no to straws altogether, try reusable (metal, bamboo, silicone) or compostable (paper) straws.
