“That was nice.” Sae says quietly, a small smile crossing his face. Somehow, the apartment feels different now– more lonely. Nothing externally changed about it, it still the same minimalist furniture, the same quiet Madrid skyline outside his window. But something about the air feels… lighter. He suspects that it has something to do with the world finally seeing into his personal life, but he doesn’t linger on the thought– at least not outwardly.

As he lets the thought leave his mind, his phone buzzes on his desk. He checks his notification center and groans.

Lucia (PR) SAE. That was AMAZING. Engagement is up 74% in one freaking hour. People are calling you “mysteriously soft.” We are so back!! 8P

His eyes linger on the message a beat too long.

“Mysteriously soft,” he repeats under his breath, as if it’s a terminal diagnosis.

Another buzz.

Take the win. Also—pack a bag. You’re going on holiday.

His eye twitches.

Streamer AU! Imagine that Emmet actually is the Streamer’s father and that the Streamer’s mother, in her effort to try and bring her home, decides to track down and meet up with Emmet. Of course they have a lot to talk about but their goals are to being their beloved loved ones back. Whether they actually get back together or at least start dating again or they shared some sort of friendship shared custody is up to you.

Could you imagine the arguments though, if they were separated or divorced?

Flipside, imagine you vaguely know of your father, and that, apparently, he is a twin. You've never met either, your mother having moved into a different region before you were born.

Emmet still knows of you, of course. Regardless of how your mother feels, he still sends plenty of money to help take care of you, and sends you gifts on occasion (if your mom didn't hide them or pretend they were from her, depending on how their relationship ended...)

Maybe he even attends your streams before you get zapped to the past, but out of respect, doesn't talk. He's already mighty popular, and this is your thing. Emmet was a nosy man who liked to join in on conversations, but even he had his limits. Being a subway boss would attract attention from you, and that was the last thing he wanted.

Ingo, before he disappeared, would also occasionally watch, but then Emmet's life went downhill. He never stopped any payments, but it became a lot more difficult to handle while organizing search parties for his twin.

Then you disappear. It's like his life is falling apart.

Meanwhile-

You feel like you were slapped across the face when you see Ingo in person. Nor does he remember you or know of you. Or anyone, really.

Of course, you make it your mission to protect your uncle who also??? Time traveled?? And lost him memories?

He ends up being the closest to a father figure you get.

Emmet is trying not to seethe as he sees you stream.

He's horribly relieved, angry, and bewildered all in one.

All while he has to fight your mother for what possible paths to take going forward trying to get you and Ingo out of the past. Your mother is just as vicious, its why he was drawn to her initially. Now it is, frankly, annoying.

Even if she has some great ideas. >:[

Elesa and Skyla watch with popcorn as Emmet and your mother look like they are about to strangle each other with one of your streams on in the background.

"20 bucks they break and make out later."

Elesa scoffs.

"Are you kidding? 20 she kicks his ass instead."

Skyla scrunches up her face, moving her head just slightly to dodge a cup that was accidentally thrown in their direction.

"Are you blind? Do you see the sexual tension? It's like a dam about to burst. I give it a week."

"Well, you obviously haven't seen Emmet drunk on late nights viciously venting about her and arguing with her over birthday presents to give his kid. He has several years of pent up rage that are probably gonna come out first, and I imagine she'll return that in kind, if not lay the floor with him."

Silently, the shook hands. The bet was on.
