It's Anime YouTube Channel Streams KochiKame, Reborn!, More Anime in U.S., Canada

YouTube channel also streams Yakitate!! Japan, True Cooking Master Boy anime

News - Anime publisher REMOW has announced that it will be officially releasing English subtitled episodes of the 90s police comedy anime KochiKame via the It's Anime Youtube Channel in both the US and Canada. It's Anime will release new episodes every Friday, and stated that they plan to release all 373 episodes of the series over time. (If it keeps to that schedule, that means it will take about 7 years to release the entire series!) This marks the first time the series has been made available streaming in English officially in the US or Canada.

English dub of Dragon-Half is on VRV (and Crunchyroll). I only ever watched the sub, and the dub is hitting that “needs background anime while doing chores” spot. Still hilarious 20-ish years later.

Funimation App Shuts Down on April 2 as Its Accounts Merge With Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll will not support Funimation digital copies

News - Crunchyroll has announced that the Funimation app will finally shut down on April 2, 2024. Paid Funimation subscribers can migrate their account to Crunchyroll (including their watch history and queue), or merge their Funimation account with a pre-existing Crunchyroll account, if they happen to share the same email address.

Crunchyroll also announced that they will not support Funimation's digital copy content, so any digital copies of Funimation anime you may have purchased or had claimed with codes included in your Funimation DVD/BDs will no longer be available to watch in your libraries after the shut down date.

Hulu Lists Multiple Macross Anime in U.S. on January 13

Macross Plus, Macross Zero, Macross Frontier, Macross Delta, more listed in U.S.

News - After much waiting, Hulu has finally started listing multiple Macross anime titles to be made available to stream in the US on January 13th, 2025! Disney+ (which owns Hulu) originally announced back in March of 2024 that it would be streaming most of the Macross franchise "worldwide by the end of 2024". While other territories like Canada have had access to the titles for a few months now, it's release in the US was delayed for unknown reasons. But starting on Jan 13th, the following titles will be made available for US streaming:

News - Along with their release of KochiKame and other series, REMOW has also started releasing the 80s Shonen Jump comedy High School! Kimengumi anime and the It's Anime channel! This marks the first time the series has ever been available streaming officially in English in North America, though like with their other series, it will be released weekly. You can check out the first episode above if you're in the US and Canada!

Stream and watch the anime Fairy Princess Minky Momo on Crunchyroll.

News - For those of you in North America, Crunchyroll has added the first 15 episodes of the classic magical girl series Fairy Princess Minky Momo for Premium Members. Previously, these episodes had appeared on the small streaming platform, Darkroom. It is still unclear if Darkroom has official license for these, as not much information could be found on the company and who runs it. But the episodes on CR seem to be similar or the same to theirs, so I guess only time will tell if we see any more episodes uploaded.
