the trainer for this run is strela, an existing oc- they're a nonhuman entity made of tera crystals that gained sentience through unknown means. though they lived in paldea for much of their life, they've expressed curiosity in the mythologies of other regions
eventually, they set out to johto to learn more about its past firsthand. through some twist of fate, they encounter a mewtwo. they manage to chat a bit (the mewtwo is a little less apprehensive about it since strela is not human), and learn about each others' goals; the mewtwo has learned about team rocket's revival and aims to stop them.
(first image) strela insists they travel together so they can help the mewtwo achieve its goal. theirs can be met along the way, and they don't need to become friends about it, but they want to help. ultimately it accepts and gives its name as cassiopeia (cassi for short). they become friends over it later down the line btw
(second image) after stopping the slowpoke tail trade in azalea, the duo encounter a HAND OF GOD (arceus) in the well. after a test of will it learns of their goals and decides to tag along. strela is over the fucking moon about this, having just met the creator god. its name is dorado.
(third image) strela gets into voltorb flip and as a reward for their hard work, trade their coins for a dratini that they name andromeda. as soon as they leave the game corner, it transforms into a mew. turns out it was, in fact, a mew this whole time. it likes sitting on their head. cassi just tries to roll with it.
other team members not shown include fornax (anorith), aquarii (spheal) and crateris (camerupt). they have just ran out the rockets feom mahogany town. they are friends
