A package - small, rectangular, wrapped in deep red paper sits invitingly upon his desk. There's a card, barely half the size of a business card, settled discreetly under the package. It reads little more than: "If I haven't drained you of your forgiveness, please accept my apology for chasing you out of my office. I would be grateful if you would allow me to buy you dinner. -Galton". Inside is an Omas fountain pen, the barrel black with cuts of deep red, the nib solid gold. -strexcorpriskmgmt
Caesar turns the pen over in his hands, admiring the singularly astonishing craftsmanship, before breaking out a piece of paper and using his new gift to formulate a reply to his...his friend. They were still friends, were they not? It reads only, "I would be delighted both to accept your apology and meet you for dinner. -Caesar".
With his PA gone, Caesar hands the note off to an intern to deliver, lamenting the loss of yet another fine assistant. One day, he would get one to keep... One day.
