jesus christ theres a difference between pointing out problems with shipping abusive pairings and sending a sexual assault survivor graphic hate and wishing that theyd get fucking raped?? what is wrong with you people
I literally never did that?? I think you have the wrong person. That, or you’re just making shit up about me--it’s happened before.
Obviously, yes, the second one is worse. It’s also not something I have ever done, and absolutely NOT something I condone, PERIOD. I’m a sexual assault survivor myself, and even if I weren’t, I’d find that disgusting.
Also, it’s worth noting that a lot of “anti” blogs are incredibly awful to people who do ship “””bad””” pairings. I’ve seen outright suicide baiting, for fuck’s sake.
There’s a HUGE FUCKING DIFFERENCE between liking something in a purely fictional context and condoning it in real life. And so long as people aren’t shoving their ships in other people’s faces, why the fuck should it matter?
Plus, some people actually find “harmless” pairings triggering for various reasons--I have a friend who can’t stand my favorite ship (which is pretty tame) because her asshole ex shipped it, for instance. And I know plenty of survivors who aren’t bothered by “bad” ships--and some of the same people are bothered by “good” ships.
Finally, you do realize that you’re using the same arguments used by the likes of Jack Thompson, right? That liking something in fiction means you must think it’s a good thing in reality? Whether it’s a ship or a violent video game or whatever, that’s fucking bullshit.
Whoever is sending out hate is absolutely in the wrong. But it ain’t me. And it’s definitely not anyone I’d ever associate with. So maybe you should just leave all of us be.
