AU where Gaia decides to fix the past by sending Cloud back in time, as she likes to do. but there is a tricky bit to it, she can't just plop him back normally because weird lifestream rules, instead the only way to send him back is as a summon materia which she conveniently puts in Genesis's path. (this idea is interesting to me, because it forces Cloud to work with another party to get shit done)
