For @strinak, 💎🌃🌌👨🍼🍼 and “the wet nurse omegaverse”.
He would really prefer some backup just now, given the option. Not even good backup, at this point; he’d settle for passingly competent. Hell, even just a distraction might be good enough. Just–anything that isn’t “actively making the situation worse”, if nothing else.
Clark starts to open his mouth again, probably to blame himself for something else, and then–pauses, and glances–well, towards the corner of the office, but more likely towards the road, given how he lets his glasses slip down over his nose as he does it.
Please tell me your husband is finally here, Bruce doesn’t say. It’s very much what he thinks, though, because Lois is much better at making Clark feel like a normal person who’s doing their best, as opposed to feeling like Superman who’s failing. Really, the only better option would be his parents, but they’re all the way in Smallville so super-speed and senses aside, convincing Clark to go see them for a pep talk while leaving a strange omega that his pups are both fawning over in the den seems unlikely to go well.
Bruce is definitely going to try if that’s not Lois coming up the road, though.
“Lois is almost here,” Clark says, and Bruce is very, very relieved to hear it.
