A 1941 Fairey Swordfish Mk I Torpedo Bomber coming in for a pass - Old Warden Military Airshow 2025
This "Stringbag" is the oldest surviving airworthy Fairey Swordfish in the world, and is part of the Navy Wings historic naval aircraft collection.
An awesome wartime photo of the "Stringbag!" The Fairey Swordfish, as from my previous post.

Warlord No. 71, dated 46 years ago on 31 January 1976. Cover by Jeff Bevan. "Stringbag" was a nickname for the Fairey Swordfish but I'm not sure whether the "flying can opener" referred to the plane or the anti U-boat rockets it carried. Despite being more on a par with planes from the First World War the Swordfish remained in service throughout the Second World War and made a huge contribution in sinking Axis ships.
