Ok, so, i'm pretty sensitive to strong scents, and it's been super hot outside so it's like... a million times worse, but at school people keep spraying perfume and cologne all over then place, and so I end up coughing, and I'm just hypersensitive to these specific smells, so then it's kind of sensory overload-ish because I swear it's eVERYWHERE. Any advice on how to deal with this?
Sitting by a window may help a bit, as at least some of the air near you is fresh. If you have assigned seats, talk to your teachers about it. Tell them you’ve been finding it hard to focus through perfume smells in the hall and you think it would help if you were closer to the window.
I know that perfume stores have little cans of coffee beans for you to smell in between smelling the perfumes to get the previous smell out of your nose, so you might also try carrying around a little can of coffee, either in a pocket or on a necklace. That way you’ve got it as a handy way to control the olfactory input you’re dealing with.
You could also try a lip balm or something with a smell you like that might help block out the Bad Smells, but I don’t know whether that might just add more smells to an already overwhelming environment.

Ayyy coffee haters unite! (Although I do like Tiramisu, the ways of my tastebuds are a mystery)
I can't stand either coffee nor alcohol.
Even the smallest quantities, my tastebuds will not be ok with.
Also my nose is very sensitive so strong smells (like my brother cigarettes smoke in the air around our bedrooms...) are such a pain in the arse!! Like I hate going into perfume or cosmetics shops because I can't breath!!!
Too strong coffee and cigarettes have the same energy.
Personal rant: so after my hypothyroidism has been acting up massively lately, and I’m experiencing severe stomach cramps at night for the past most, I’m now taking antibiotics for a bladder infection. So of course I’m now having the migraine of my lifetime. This is fine, my body isn’t at all reacting to the stress I’m under at the moment. Or as Jake Peralta would put it: cool cool cool cool cool cool
I disassociate hardcore in medical settings, and I think it freaks the people working on me out. Sorry guys.
What fragrance do you guys wear?
