I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this yet, but in the first Scream when Tatum goes to get beers and encounters Stu as Ghost Face, she knows it’s him, right? Anyone else encountering a person dressed like the killer would automatically assume it’s THE killer, but she knew. She knew it was Stu behind that mask, but she didn’t know Stu was THE killer, that’s why she thought it was a joke. She didn’t take it seriously cause she knew Stu would joke like that, she thought he was messing with her, so she did the “I wanna be in the sequel” line.
i think the fact that billy and stu were accidentally gay because kevin williamson felt like he had to repress that side of himself in media is very very accurate to what happens with a majority of “accidentally” gay media. things like frankenstein, tom ripley, etc are all things where the queerness of it in part comes from the writer being scared to admit that to themselves or show it in the work so it comes out in accidental subtle ways. i don’t know if kevin williamson even has the power to confirm stuilly entirely, but he can admit that these characters are Without a doubt queer, even if they weren’t intended to be and it was his own repressed queer side that made them that way, and i think that’s really fascinating.
You guys are ridiculous. Just checked twitter, and did a good number of you just start following Stu Mather because of that? :P
Why my fandom is better than your fandom: we get shit done
So this just happened... thought you might like to know. Stu Mather is the producer for Nevermind the Buzzcocks.
