Finally getting to it more than 20 yrs later and it's #A slight disappointment tbh: had it been either twice as good (a switched on reset for the slasher genre in a post Scream world) or twice #As bad (a badly dated cheese fest of awful haircuts and obsolete tech) it would have been a hell of a film. As it is it's distinctly #Average and plays out all too familiar beats in a surprisingly leisurely fashion. There is some good: SJP works hard to make her (as #Written) vacuous mean girl into a 3d likeable person to root for and the weirdly skewed moral compass (a lot of innocent ppl get caught up #In this murderer's revenge) is if not a positive then at least interesting. But the reveal of the villain is kind of a major let down.#Following the eras of Freddy and Jason and Mike Myers (not that one) we get... A disgruntled fisherman. In the immortal words of Gag #Halfrunt: he's just some guy‚ you know?
