Oh, on a wire, we were dancing
Two kids, no consequences
A ten year old you angrily knocked on Michael’s bedroom door, not even bothering to wait for an answer before you barged in. He did leave you alone in English which Calum didn’t have with you either after all. But only to see Michael focused on his Nintendo.
“Michael! Michael! Why weren’t you at school today?” You asked him, frowning. He shrugged and stuck out his tongue.
“I’m sick see?” He said, waggling his tongue at you. You wrinkled your face and pushed his face away.
“That’s so gross Michael ewww!”
“Really?” He asked eagerly waggling his tongue even faster.
“You look like a crazy dog.” That stopped him immediately.
Pull the trigger, without thinking
There’s only one way down this road
It was your first boy- girl party. You were twelve and this was a pretty big deal so naturally, you and Calum wouldn’t go if Michael couldn’t go. Luckily, the girl who’s party it was had a huge crush of Calum and quickly extended the invitation to Michael.
And now here you were frowning at Michael talking to Luke Hemmings out of all the people instead of you.
“Y/n you should just tell him.” A voice said, making you jump and turn around quickly.
“Calum don’t scare me like that!” You cried, clutching your chest. Calum grinned at you.
“You should tell Mikey you like like him.”
“I don’t like like him! That’s so weird Calum he’s my best friend that’s just gross okay?” You insisted, making a disgusted face.
“It’s true!” You protested, but when you realized he wouldn’t budge you huffed and walked away.
But you just couldn’t get rid of those words from your head, could you?
Well there’s no way out of this
So let’s stay in
You stood by the wall silently drinking from a can of Coke, unlike the class mates around you. Glaring at Michael’s back who was in an animated conversation with Luke. It had been a week since Michael called you clingy and threw away fifteen years of friendship.
“You should really tell him you know.” A voice said from behind you, didn’t have to turn around to know who it was.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Calum.” You replied stubbornly.
“He misses you Y/n and I miss you too.” Calum said, ignoring your reply.
“He called me a clingy bitch.” You snapped.
“You called Luke an asshole.” Calum retaliated.
“Luke isn’t even his best friend! I am! How could he choose him over me? It wasn’t Luke who he kept setting up it was me!”
“You know that’s because we got a new member Y/n. We had to hold practices!”
“Don’t-” You began to say when someone cut you off.
“Hey! Hey Y/n, do you want a drink?” A boy slurred. You could feel Michael’s eyes on you as you nodded.
And if I have to pull you out of the wreckage
You know I’m never gonna let you go
“Y/n, listen I don’t think you should date him.” Michael said hurriedly, as you waited outside Biology. It was two weeks after the party. The boy who offered you a drink was the same boy who had asked you out on a date.
“You have no right to tell me who to date.” You hissed.
“He’s not a good guy!” Michael burst out.
“I don’t see why you care.”
“Because- because I like you! I can’t see you with him or anyone else.” Michael snapped. He took in your shocked face and added. “Forget I said anything.” Before hurrying away.
Got your heart in my hands, like a time bomb ticking
We should know better,
But we won’t let go
“Michael, what the hell is this?” You asked, pushing your phone upto the tv screen.
“Who is she?” You demanded, pointing at the picture of him and some girl sitting on the arm rest of his chair at a club that the Hollywood reporter was talking about. Michael’s image scattered a little before he answered.
“She’s Kellin’s wife. They cropped out the part where I was sitting on Kellin’s lap.” Michael mumbled sleepily, it was pretty late in Germany after all. You let out a relieved sigh.
“Oh my god, do I need to be worried about Kellin?” You joked, Michael laughed before replying.
“No but maybe about Calum.” He said mock serious.
“Oh he better be sleeping with one eye open then.” You answered in the same tone before breaking into a fit of giggles.
Baby, we’re like a time bomb
But I need it
Wouldn’t have it any other way
